College party can be fun and scary at the same time, especially when you are freshmen. Here is everything you should know before jumping to a college party.

Bring Someone With You

If you don’t want to walk around all alone and feel awkward half of the party before you get to know someone, then bring a friend with you. It can either be a friend you met at orientation day or your best friend from high school. Not only she will help you to look less left out, but also to look after you.

Be Open To Talk

We all know that it is your first college party and there are a lot of new people, thus, not all of us are sociable. But be open to talking to anyone is the key to get new friends and enjoy the very first college moment.

Don’t Be Shy And Don’t Shut Anyone

Remember not all boys always want to drug you. So don’t shut them down when they approach you, maybe they think you cute, maybe they want to have new friends. We don’t know. But don’t shut them down, but also remember, before college partying, don’t be gullible.

Eat Something Before Go

It is totally not a good idea leaving yourself hungry go to a party and come home with an alcohol belly. Eat something before you go helps you to be less drunk and do embarrassing things, we highly encourage you to eat something fat like cheese, avocado or butter, food with a carb like a piece of toast, protein like chicken, food containing B-12 vitamin like salmon.

Follow The Dress Code

“Dress your best but don’t overdress!” You want to look the best that you can, maybe look stand out, but you probably don’t want to look too much different from others. Follow the dress code first, or if you don’t know what the dress code is a black dress never be wrong!

Know Your Limits

You should always know your limits unless you want to pass out in the middle of the party or do something embarrassed. You can have fun but remember to drink responsibly.

If Nobody Talks To You, Talk To Them

If you are the kind of person who sits there and waits for someone to talk to you, don’t do that. Nobody will bother talking to you if you just sit there. Go around and find someone you might get along with and hang out with them. You’ll never know maybe they will be your college best friend or your special one.

Don’t Mix Drink, Alcohol and Coke makes you drunk faster

Remember, never, mix, alcohol! If you drink beer first, stick with it, don’t drink beer and coke and vodka! Your stomach will blame you if you keep mixing the drinks so don’t do that!

Don’t Sleep There

First college partying! There is a high chance that you’ll fall asleep there, cause you are too drunk! But try to stay awake and leave before the party actually ends. Or you might end up having a bunch of embarrassing photos on facebook the next day.

Know How To Say No

Another important tip about how to survive college partying are learned how to say no. If your just-met-friend makes you drink and you don’t want it, say no, if you’re offered drinks by strange men and you don’t feel good about it, say no. Always protect yourself!
