5 Essential Grooming Tools Every Man Needs

There's are few things man can go without. Here are 5 essential grooming tools no man should go without!

Your body and hygiene should be a wonderland – there’s no excuse for not having the essential tools required for maintaining what your papa gave you! But if you’ve found yourself with an empty bathroom drawer, with a 4-year-old toothbrush and a VERY dirt razor, then we’re here to help you get your once beautiful face back to its best with these five essential grooming tools.

1. Tongue Scraper

Your mouth is pretty gross, and your tongue does you no favours either! When it comes to oral hygiene, many of us tend to overlook the importance of cleaning the tongue. In fact, brushing and scraping the tongue might be as beneficial as brushing your teeth. This copper scraper should be high up on your essential grooming tools list. You can pick one up for under $15 digs much deeper and more efficiently than a toothbrush would on the surface of the tongue—harmlessly, of course—to scrape away as much bacteria as is feasible. It is recommended that you do it twice a day to maximise efficiency ( or at the very least make sure you do it at the end of the night).

2. Shaving Brushes

Shaving brushes are definitely essential grooming tools for men with sensitive skin and help you shave effectively by preventing the shaving cream from watering down. Instead of using a gel which can cause irritation that inflames the skin, causing bumps and red bumps, try a combination of shave cream and a shaving brush which will create a rich, creamy lather which softens and lift facial hair before you shave.

A good shaving brush will highly depend on its bristles and the material from which they’re made. For instance, some are made from synthetic fibres or even horse hair. So consider the sensitivity of skin when selecting the bristles for it. See what your friends or experts recommend.

3. Hair razor

The hair razor is best for when you can’t get to your barber for that routine hair cut. Even if you’re not a barber, you’ve probably used one on yourself or someone else (regrettably). You can make your hairstyles differently using hair razor. It may take a little practice to get it just right, but this essential grooming tool may save you big $$$.

If you’re worried about messing up – then don’t. Whatever hair trimmer you buy, you’ll probably want to purchase hand-held trimming sets that come with interchangeable guard pieces. This way, you can trim your hair in uniform length this way because a guard piece lets you cut only a certain length of hair at a time. Secondly, you do not have to take any risk of cutting a large amount of your hair accidentally. Therefore, it is always convenient to choose a hair trimmer.

4. Electric Trimmer

On some days, you may be pressed for time, and the conventional razor and shaving cream isn’t about to save you any precious moments. That’s where the electric trimmer comes handy. Almost any trimmer you pick up these days will have an adjustable head so that you can trim down to a stubble or maintain a short beard. The trimmer is also great for sculpting large beards or maintaining smooth necklines on shorter styles. Should you use it for your hair downstairs, then we strongly recommend you get two.

5. Combs

Back in the old days, it was common practice for men to keep their combs with them at all times because it was basically a cardinal sin not to keep your hair styled. Things haven’t really changed since then. Men still definitely still and should pride their hair and choosing the right comb has never been more important. Do the research on your hair type and buy accordingly. Though, a simple comb will work too.
