8 Easy Ways To Look Tan Without Having To Sit In The Sun

If you'd like to know of some easy ways to look tan without damaging your skin with sun exposure, try out these tips and tricks for a bronze glow!

Not everybody has the time, the money or even the right weather to lounge in the sun all day topping up the tan. Follow these 8 easy ways to look tan without having to spend your day at the beach frying your skin!

1) Fake tan is everything!

Don’t be put off by the common myths of streaks and looking orange – there are some amazing tans on the market currently and many of them cost under £10. It is definitely the best way to replicate a natural tan that took 2 weeks on the beach in Spain to achieve. 4 hours of developing or 2 weeks of lying on a sunbed, I know which I’d choose.

2) Not a fan? Try gradual tan.

If you’re completely against fake tan or worried about the first time delving into the world of tanning, don’t worry, gradual tan is made for you! You can slowly build up a natural, beautiful colour that will have people wondering where you found the time to sit in the sun all day. Your other must have: tinted moisturiser- perfect for up-keeping a ‘holiday radiance’ specifically for your face.

3) Stock up on the bronzer.

For a sun-kissed look, bronzer is your best friend. Opt for one with a shimmer to emphasise the glow even more and again, you don’t have to spend loads to make this work. But most importantly, don’t just think bronzer is for your face, use all over the body to contour and bronze areas that are lacking in colour (this works wonders on the legs and chest areas!)

4) The lighter your clothes, the better.

When deciding what to wear on a summers day, head straight to your whites and brights as the difference between those colours and your bronzed skin will make your tan pop. Think peaches, pastels, creams and whites for the best tan illusions. Don’t be afraid to show a little skin, you need something for the clothes to contrast to!

5) Moisturise everything!

When you do head outside with your legs on show, make sure they’re properly moisturised. You want the sun to bounce off your pins to make them look silky smooth and tanned. Although it’s a hassle, moisturising every night will ensure your skin is summer ready- and it will be worth it!

6) Behold- body oil.

Or if you really want to step up the shine, embrace the body oil. They are particularly clever as many of them are tinted, so not only will you be glowing head to toe, but the added bronzy colours will have you fooling everyone. If you’re feeling a little nervous about colour, baby oil is definitely the way forward. This is one of the greatest easy ways to look tan!

7) Memorise the make- up hacks.

There is so much trickery to be explored with make-up and not just using bronzer. Firstly, stick to your golds, bronzes, and browns for your eyes, you want to aim for golden, beachy vibes. In a similar way, choose a warm highlighter to dust over your high points so the sun can laminate your face in the most flattering way. And most importantly, don’t forget the blush! Blush is something a lot of people are scared of trying, but if you want to nail the ‘I’ve been at the beach all day’ look, then embrace the blush to replicate the healthy, rosy cheek glow. This is one of the best easy ways to look tan!

8) Use your Instagram filters wisely.

Who said there was anything wrong with the help of an Instagram filter to accentuate your summer glow? You can never go wrong with Mayfair or Ludwig, or if you want something a little more subtle, play around with the toggles to get the lighting just right. Try pulling the Contrast and Lux up, and most definitely put the Warmth to maximum!
