Superfoods are nutrient-rich foods that are particularly beneficial for our health and wellbeing and we should all be making a conscious effort to incorporate them into our diet. Although, superfoods aren’t exactly notorious for being rich in flavour or particularly comforting, therefore sometimes it can be hard to work them into your eating habits. Well, fear not! Here are 8 easy ways to incorporate superfoods into your diet to transform your regular food routines into the healthy lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of.

1. Eggs

Although eggs are notoriously high in cholesterol, they are actually a superfood; they contain high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, good fats, and nutrients. This low cal superfood can be prepared in various ways (some healthy not so healthy). Fried eggs and scrambled eggs are super easy ways to incorporate this beneficial food into your diet and are truly delicious. However, the butter and oils these types of eggs are cooked in can reduce their health benefits. Poached, soft boiled or hard boiled eggs are perfect for having on toast for breakfast or in your lunch-time salad. Easy, right?

2. Salmon

You’re probably aware that all fish is super healthy and contains many beneficial oils that aid with skin, hair, and nails. However, the nutrients found in salmon, if eaten consistently, will truly leave you reaping the rewards of this superfood. Salmon aids with boosting the immune system, brain development and nerve, bone and eye function whilst also acting as an anti-inflammatory. Salmon can be great with buttered, slightly-crushed new potatoes and asparagus for a hearty dinner or split into chunks and incorporated into your favourite salad for a lunch-time treat.

3. Spinach

Spinach, and any other dark, leafy green, are great for skin, hair and bone health. It also provides a ton of protein, iron, vitamin, and minerals. This majorly beneficial superfood can be used in almost any dish: the salad in your lunch-time sandwich; stirred into a hearty sweet potato Dahl; your veggie side with any meat or fish dish and even stirred into various soups. This is one of the easiest superfoods to incorporate into any diet.

It is jam-packed full of nutrients and antioxidants such as folic acid, omega 3, magnesium, potassium, lutein, and fibre. Not to mention vitamins A, C, D, E and K. The options really are endless.

5. Blueberries

Blueberries are another superfood that is packed full of antioxidants, phytoflavinoids, potassium, and vitamin C and highly recommended by doctors and nutritionists.
