8 Easy No-Heat Ways To Style Wet Hair

Are you into wearing different hairstyles? Look no further than this list to get tips on how to style your hair curly or straight using no heat. From time to time, your locks will need a rest from all of those high-pressure heat tools including curling irons, straightening irons and blow driers. These tips to style your wet hair using will definitely impress, and your hair will thank you at the same time! Although heat can be bad for the hair, water particles can also damage the hair follicles, which is why blowdrying for a short amount of time at low heat is recommended. It is, however, important to switch up your routine from time to time and let your hair rest, and most certainly put away the curling and straightening iron which sadly only damages your hair. Whenever you do use heat, remember to always use a heat protection spray!

1. Braid Your Hair And Leave It Overnight For Healthy Curls

This first tip is one of the easiest ways to get flowing bouncy curls without resorting to your curling iron. There are several ways to braid your hair. You can choose between braiding them into several strands, two strands or one big strand. Each way that you braid your hair will give you a different effect and produce either tighter or looser curls. In order to style wet hair, make sure to comb through it using a wide-toothed comb. Divide your hair into sections using a divider, using a fabric material to tie the ends together. I do not recommend using plastic as this can tear at the hair. Braid your hair overnight and voila, in the morning you can undo the braids and reveal beautiful healthy curls!

2. Use A Coconut Oil Mask For Glossy Air Dried Locks

It is definitely important to incorporate oil into your hair routine from time to time. Coconut oil is one of my favourites as it is able to penetrate into the hair shaft leaving the hair shiny and moisturized within. To achieve glossy locks, apply coconut oil and leave it to sink in for a few hours then wash and rinse with shampoo and conditioner. Make sure to properly dry your hair with a towel and wrap it in a hairpiece for bed. This is a great way to style your wet hair as in the morning you will have beautifully silky locks.

3. Use Hair Curlers Overnight For Bouncy Curls

This is an old fashion way to get curls and is especially effective if you are looking for those retro bouncy curls of the 50s. You would need to invest in some hair rollers and make sure that you pin your hair up properly and leave overnight. This way to style wet hair will look great in the morning giving you bouncy curls that are full of life.

4. Tie Your Wet Hair Into A Bun For Flowing Waves

If you are short on time, a trick that I have found effective to style wet hair to get simple and fuss-free waves is to tie your hair into a bun. Make sure that you dry off the excess water with your towel after your shower, use a wide-toothed comb to untangle your hair and tie it into a bun, securing it properly with bobby pins. This style itself allows you to leave the house looking good. Once it has dried, let your hair down to reveal sultry waves!

5. Use A Leave-In Conditioner For Soft Hair

Using a Leave-In Conditioner is a great way to style wet hair as it ensures that when your hair dries it will dry in a smooth way. I have often used this trick on those mornings where I did not have enough time to blow dry my hair and found that my hair looked soft and supple by the time it had dried after I had arrived at work.

6. Twist Your Hair Into Two Sections

This is a great way to style wet hair in order to achieve waves without using heating tools. Simply divide your wet hair into two sections using a divider and roll each side into a circle. Attack this twisted roll to each side of your head respectively. Let this dry overnight and release the twists in the morning. You will have soft and luscious waves to impress!

7. Use A Sea Salt Spray

If you have natural curls and you would like to enhance them, use a simple sea salt spray to style wet hair into beautiful curls after they dry. The salt helps to encourage your curl to maintain its proper form. This is a great way to style wet hair if you are in a rush and are looking for a cute look once your hair has dried.

8. Comb Your Hair Using A Wide-Toothed Comb

If you have naturally straight hair, there is a way to achieve perfectly sleek straight locks without reaching for the straightener. Simply divide your hair into two parts using the divider and comb your hair straight using your wide-toothed comb. Use a smaller thinly toothed comb on your hair and spray an oil or shine spray. Let your hair set and make sure that you only go to bed after it dries. Voila, you will have silky straight locks without needing to use your GHDs!
