6 DIY Bath Bombs To Keep Your Skin Hydrated This Summer

Bath bombs can take your bath to the next level! Being able to make your own bath bombs is so much fun and it can save you money. That’s why I’ve created this little guide to making 6 DIY bath bombs!

With it being summer, you’ll want to make bath bombs that are going to be hydrating and moisturizing for your skin. All of these bath bombs will do just that, as well as being super fun to make!

Note: To set these bath bombs you can use an old plastic Christmas ornament or even a plastic easter egg.

1. Coconut Dream Bath Bomb

First on this list of DIY bath bombs is the coconut dream bath bomb! The coconut oil used in this bath bomb is super moisturizing and hydrating for your skin, especially after a long day out in the hot sun.

The vitamin E oil is also a great antioxidant that will help to soften your skin. Here is everything you’ll need:

  • 1 Cup Coconut Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Vitamin E Oil
  • 1 1/2 Cup Epsom Salt
  • 3/4 Baking Soda
  • Optional: Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils to add a nice scent. I would add lavender oil because it’s known to have calming effects on you which is perfect for a bath!

2. Coconut Almond Bath Bomb

Next is the delicious smelling coconut almond bath bomb! This bath bomb, as well as several on this list, use citric acid as one of the ingredients. This ingredient can be irritating to the skin when it’s by itself so be sure to use gloves when you handle it.

This bath bomb has hydrating coconut oil that’s amazing for your skin. It’s also antimicrobial so it can help to fight negative bacteria.

Then to the delicious smelling almond oil. Almond oil contains vitamin E which softens your skin as well as having anti-aging properties! Here’s what you’ll need for this bath bomb:

  • 1 Cup Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1/2 Cup Corn Starch
  • 1/2 Cup Epsom Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil, Divided
  • 1-2 Teaspoons Almond Oil
  • Optional: Vegetable based food coloring and your choice of essential oils for extra scent

3. Moisturizing Shea Butter Bath Bomb

Next on this list of DIY bath bombs is the Shea butter bath bomb. This bath bomb is amazing for your skin because it contains Shea butter! Shea butter has so many benefits for your skin like moisturizing and anti-aging effects.

This bath bomb will make your skin feel so soft and hydrated after a long day of sitting under the sun working on your tan. It’ll also help to moisturize and hydrate the skin if you’ve been swimming in a chlorine pool! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 Cups Citric Acid
  • 4 Cups Baking Soda
  • 1/3 Cup Epsom Salt
  • 2 T Shea Butter (You can customize it by choosing your favorite kind of body butter if you like)
  • 2 T Grape Seed Oil
  • 1/2 t Wilton Gel Colorant
  • 1 T Your Favorite Essential Oil
  • 1/2 T Cold Water

4. Luxurious Bath Bomb

This next bath bomb is simple and luxurious. The castor oil in the bath bomb is very moisturizing for your skin and it also promotes healthy skin tissue to grow! This is perfect for after you’ve stayed out in the sun a little too long and acquired a sunburn. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 Cup Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1/4 Cup Corn Starch
  • 1/4 Cup Epsom Salt
  • 3 tsp Castor Oil
  • 1 tsp Your Favorite Essential Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Water
  • Optional: Food Coloring

5. Pink Heart Bath Bomb

The next bath bombs are super cute pink hearts, perfect for a bath anytime this summer. The Epsom salt in these bath bombs is very calming and it’ll leave your skin feeling nice and smooth! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 Cups Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1/2 Cup Epsom Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Pink Himalayan Salt
  • 1/4 Cup or 2 Ounces Shea Butter
  • Witch Hazel (Without Aloe Vera)
  • Your Choice Of Essential Oil

6. Coconut Geode Bath Bomb

This last of our DIY bath bombs are cute and unique coconut geodes! The coconut oil in these bath bombs will hydrate your skin while the Epsom salt leaves it feeling super soft. Here’s everything you’ll need to make these awesome geodes:

  • 3 Tbsp Epsom Salt or Dead Sea Salt or Course Rock Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Corn Starch
  • Food or Soap Coloring
  • 1/2 Cup Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1/2-1 Tbsp Witch Hazel (amount depends on the humidity of where you’re making the bath bombs)
  • Optional: A few drops of your favorite essential oil and edible glitter
