12 Different Types Of Relationships You Don’t Hear About

The most common relationships you hear about are your everyday, romantic relationships or those within the family. There are so many other relationships we see, hear or experience that we don’t think about or don’t consider them in the category of relationships. Here are 12 different types of relationships you’ve probably never thought of.

1. Dogs

A man’s best-friend, or just anyone’s really. Think about it: if we can have a friendship with people and consider that a relationship, why can’t we have a great friendship with dogs ? They’re one of the best, no fuss relationships and these fluffy tail-waggers are guaranteed to make you constantly happy. Plus, they don’t dump you.

2. Cats. Specifically fat ones.

For all the cat lovers out there, lap cats are the best. They sit on your lap, keep you warm, purr while you rub their heads and then leave you because we all ‘need space’. Cats are perfect for those who love the ‘no-cling’ relationships.

3. Materialistic things

Yes, some people take their addiction to shopping on a whole new level. Maybe they breathe in the smell of fresh, crisp shopping bags instead of oxygen. We’ll never know. But hey, no judgement!

4. Food

Do we really need to say more?

5. Our phones

We sleep with it. Eat with it. Spend 24 hours everyday with it. I mean, that’s more than a relationship really.

6. Plush toys

Can’t get a real pet? There’s probably a plush toy for that. Just start collecting them and bury yourself in their soft, plushy glory. Trust me, I just added a husky plush toy to my growing dog soft toy collection. (I’ve got a corgi and a pug)

7. Celebrities

Aren’t we all just dating someone on the big screen? I’ve been dating Tom Hiddleston for years. He Lo-ki just doesn’t know it yet.

8. Bands

There are bands that we’ve all followed and devoted 8472934 minutes of our time and our lives to. More commitment than we’d ever have for a normal relationship. Facebook groups and Instagram fanpages are testament to the huge families that are built from following these bands. It’s just another family, really. But one of the best kind.

9. Pillows

The best feeling in the world is drowning myself in a huge pile of pillows. As much as I’d like to jump into a huge pile of raked leaves, it gets too cold for that outside. Some people collect pillows. Is there a group for Pillow Addicts Anonymous?

10. B E D.

We want to spend more time with it but we only have time for it on the weekends. It never lets us be productive and constantly pulls us back in to snuggle some more. I’m so sorry I disappoint you bed. I promise I’ll try to spend more time with you from now on.
