This make-up brand was first founded in June 2004 in New York City and despite going on to become an international make-up brand, they have never tested on animals. e.l.f has always been 100% committed and determined to exclusively produce and sell cruelty free products.
PETA also recognises e.l.f cosmetics as a member of their ‘Beauty Without Bunnies’ movement since 2005. This is because they maintain and advocate for ethical practices by not harming animals during the creation process of their products.
One of their best beauty products probably has to be their lip crayons. They come in multiple shades and are great for pretty much any occasion.
The Body Shop was actually the first beauty brand to question how normal the concept of testing on animals used to be. The international company actually ended up fighting the entire notion and became the first brand to be certified as completely animal cruelty free by Leaping Bunny in 1997.
They are mainly known for a lot of products being fresh and completely hand-made too. Not only are they animal cruelty free but they have started to offer a wide range of vegan products. For example, their Ginger Scalp Care Conditioner, Shea Nourishing Body Butter and Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation.
NYX’s parent company, L’Oréal, is actually known for testing on animals when they are manufacturing products to sell under their own name.
Despite this, NYX stuck to their guns and managed to maintain their strict no animal testing policy.
They are still an animal cruelty free brand and have even been acknowledged by PETA. NYX also refuses to open branches in countries that require products to be tested on animals.

This is probably an obvious one because they have been fighting against animal cruelty for a long time.
Lush was founded in 1995 and since then they have launched several advertising campaigns in order to encourage people to steer clear from products that have been tested on animals.
In order to ensure their products are not being tested on animals, Urban Decay internally tests all of their products. It also does not allow other companies to carry out testing on their behalf. They only use certified suppliers in order to ensure that even the raw materials used to create the products have not been primarily tested on animals.
Urban Decay is mainly known for its eye shadow make-up palettes. The best ones include the Naked3 eyeshadow palette, Naked Smoky Eyeshadow palette and the Moondust eyeshadow palette.
This brand is also part of PETA’s “Beauty without Bunnies” cruelty free movement. The co-founder of Too Faced, Jerrod Blandino, shared his thoughts on animal-cruelty on Instagram in 2016.
