5 Degree Courses That Will Open The Door For The Most Fun Jobs

They say that if you find a job that you really enjoy doing you never have to work a day in your life. Weather this is true or not all depends on the kind of industry you work or dream to work in. Certainly, there are degree courses that open direct doors for extremely creative and fun jobs. So,we have gathered a few degree courses that can give you access to the most fun jobs

1. Media

Those who choose to study media related courses on a graduate level have the exciting opportunity to work in media, cultural and creative industries. These include various areas of work such as television and radio, film and video, digital media, computer games, journalism, writing and publishing, PR and much more. Advertising agencies, PR consultancies and TV companies are among the most popular places you could dream of working holding a media related degree.

However, the media industry is not all fun and games. Media is a fun sector and therefore highly popular among job seekers and recent graduates. For this reason, the media field has become more and more competitive, meaning that you will have to stand out to be able to achieve a role in the industry. You will need relevant experience which implies that you also have to do internships and short unpaid work experiences. If you are aiming to work in the media sector, you will literally have to work you’re a** of because the competition is unreal, especially as most media companies and agencies accept applications from all degree disciplines and background, meaning you might have to compete with non-media related graduates. You will need motivation and persistence when applying for media jobs but a job in the industry will be rewarding.

2. Architecture

An architecture degree helps to acquire visual, technical and design-based skills that not many other degree courses can offer. Especially if you are passionate about drawing and sketching, architecture roles are definitely very fun. Just like any other degree, you will need to persist in building up your own portfolio through work experience, internships and voluntary work.

These will be crucial for your job applications by the time you graduate, so take advantage of all vacations, especially long summer breaks to gain relevant experience and most importantly make contacts within the industry. Gaining work experience will demonstrate to potential employers that you are a hardworking, motivated and a reliable person.

3. Interior Design

A degree in Interior design can be useful for plenty of fun jobs, including Furniture designer, Graphic designer, Product designer, Stylist and Textile designer. As all creative and fun sectors, the competition is very high. So, it is advisable to try as much as possible to gain relevant experience in the field alongside your studies. This will show employers that you have the most required skills and that you can use those skills and knowledge in a professional environment. Voluntary work and unpaid positions can be very annoying but they are an excellent way to make contacts in the industry and to demonstrate you strong motivation to employers.
