The Dairy-Free Smoothie Recipes You Need In Your Life

If you’re looking for a quick, healthy and filling breakfast, you can never go wrong with a tasty smoothie. If made with wholesome and nutritious ingredients, a smoothie can be a great way to get your daily intake of superfoods, protein and healthy fats. There are hundreds of yoghurt based or whey protein pumped smoothie recipes which, while they may be delicious, unfortunately are not suitable for the dairy-free community. But who said that those of us who live a dairy-free life have to stick to a measly portion of fruit for breakfast and boycott smoothies altogether? Well, thanks to the birth of plant-based milk and yoghurts, smoothies can now be protein packed while also remaining dairy-free. So no more upset stomachs! Here are a few of our favourite healthy dairy-free smoothie recipes that are quick and easy to make while remaining full of sweet, sweet flavour.

Coco-berry

If you love coconut, this is the smoothie for you. Both creamy and deliciously sweet, this smoothie tastes more like a tasty treat than a breakfast smoothie. To make this breakfast staple, simply blitz together 1 frozen banana, a handful of frozen strawberries, a squirt of raw honey, 250ml of coconut milk and 2 tablespoons of coconut yoghurt (makes it extra creamy!) in a food processor or electric mixer until smooth. Test the consistency and add a splash more milk if you want it a bit runnier. Pour into a glass and sprinkle a few chia seeds on top for an extra dose of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.

Nutty Banana

This almond banana shake is perfect for those of you that love something sweet with a nutty edge. Full of natural sweeteners and packed full of nutrients, this smoothie is the perfect breakfast to kick-start your day. Simply pop 250ml of almond milk, a tablespoon and a half of almond butter, a frozen banana and a squirt of raw honey into a food processor and blitz until the banana is completely blended and there are no chunks. Et voila! A delicious and nutritious breakfast smoothie. If you want to add an extra shot of health, add a scoop of the Naturya Superfood Breakfast Boots Superberries to the mix which will definitely supercharge your breakfast!

Mango Passion

If you have a more tropical taste palette, opt for this refreshing and sweet mango passion smoothie. The oats make it super feeling, so it is ideal for breakfast while still being full of goodness. To make this delicious breakfast booster just blitz together a handful of frozen mango, the pulp from 2 passion fruits, 250ml of oat milk and a handful of simple oats until smooth and then serve. Delicious!

Choco-Banana

Honestly, this choco-banana smoothie is essentially a healthy chocolate milkshake. I know, it’s almost unbelievable. The chocolate flavor is created through the addition of the raw cocoa powder which is a superfood full of magnesium, iron and antioxidants. To make this mouth-watering chocolatey creation, simply pop a tablespoon of raw cocoa powder, 1 frozen banana, 2 Medjool dates, 250ml almond milk, 1 tablespoon of almond butter, 3 ice cubes and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder in an electric mixer and blitz until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
