La Cucina is a small, I mean absolutely tiny, Italian restaurant in Castletroy. It’s divine! La Cucina is the ideal date night restaurant for any student couple as for just €12 you can get any pasta dish on the menu with a glass of red or white wine. It’s cosiness adds to the great atmosphere. The restaurant are due to expand in the coming weeks with La Cucina Centro opening in Limerick City.
2. Take a trip to the Milk Market!
Every Friday and Saturday morning the Milk Market converts itself into a food hall. Located on the streets that you’ll only remember in a drunken blur – it’s across from The Library nightclub. The market is the perfect place to stroll around, picking up delicious fresh, homemade goods as you go. You’ll find anything from freshly baked bread to Wexford strawberries to some Indian spices.
3. Go to a concert at Dolan’s.

7. Explore the Ballyhoura Mountains.
Bring your bikes and take a trip out to the Ballyhoura Mountains. You could cycle a 6km trail or if you’re feeling really fit you could attempt the 50km one – the Castlepook loop around. If ye are into the outdoors, this is a great option.

This would be a super fun date and an affordable one for students also. Funworld on Ennis Road is the place to go for bowling in Limerick. Located only 20 minutes away from the university.

While the rugby season is underway, going to see a game in Thomond Park would be an ideal date for those who are into sport. With student tickets to games usually only €10, it is within a student budget and it’s sure to be exciting.
10. Step back in history inside King John’s Castle!
Limerick’s most famous tourist attraction, King John’s Castle, is the basis of Limerick’s history. Located right in the city centre it’s easily accessible.
