1. Hawaiian Iced Coffee
Calling all coconut lovers! We’ve found the drink for you. Coconut oil is melted into a splash of fresh espresso, along with coconut extract, and a final flurry of ground coconut for decoration. This is a multi-seasonal recipe perfect over ice on summery days, or held warm in a mug as a winter warmer.
2. Avocado Coffee
This is a hipster’s dream drink. Smash an avo’ into your coffee for a more syrupy texture and tangier taste. The drink originates from Indonesia, where it is considered a sweet after dinner treat, and is known as Es Alpukat. Sounding too weird? Add coconut, honey, or condensed milk for a more familiar sweetness.
3. Caramel Marshmallow Latte
This is the coffee lover’s boujee alternative to a hot chocolate or mocha. Stick a wafer biscuit or Graham Cracker atop the cream to create a drinkable knock-off of the classic smore. Yum!
4. Vietnamese iced coffee
Here, you will combine syrupy condensed milk with dark roasted coffee for the ultimate kickstart to your day. Numb down your caffeine high with this delicious iced coffee, freshly brewed under Vietnamese traditions. This age old recipe requires some pretty extensive equipment, but the end product is 100% worth the labour.
5. White Russian
This coffee has vodka, Kahlua, sugar syrup and espresso as its base. Sprinkle a generous covering of chocolate powder on top to make a little extra indulgent, and adding cinnamon for a bit of spice. The White Russian was popularised by The Big Lebowski film, so drink this simple delight to show off your ultimate cool.
6. Kaffeost
This Finnish delight is always served with what is described as a “coffee cheese”. Coffee cheese is dipped into the hot brew itself, illuminating the slightly sour tastes of either reindeer, cows, or goats milk. If you’re feeling adventurous, use this as a happy alternative to a classic Oreo dip.
7. Dulce de Leche Coffee
This exotic sounding coffee is essentially Spain’s delicious answer to a caramel iced latte. It has fresh grated chocolate, dark brewed coffee, double cream, coffee liquor, and sugar piled into one small glass. The heaviness of the cream allows a layer to form between it and the coffee mix, making for a drink that is just as aesthetically pleasing as it is delicious.
8. Affogato
This classic Italian after-dinner coffee is just the right amount of java and cream. The coffee is poured hot over freezing ice cream. As the liquid melts the ice cream, a frosted coat forms. Little crunches from the frozen coating blend seamlessly into the smooth ice cream for the ultimate taste sensation.
9. Irish Coffee
An Irish coffee gets its name from the brand of alcohol you slip into the double shot espresso base – not because of the stereotype that the Irish drink a lot! Jameson is the go-to Irish whisky for this kind of coffee, and is topped with some heavy double cream. If whisky isn’t your favourite taste, you can add some sugar syrup to combat the sharpness of the alcohol.
10. Creamy cashew gingersnap lattes
This beautiful creation is zingy and fatty and chocolatey and vegan! These easy peasy drinks are made with the genius method of blending whole raw cashews with hot coffee, plus a touch of sugar and spice, into frothy deliciousness.
11. Butterscotch iced coffee
This coffee is for the sweet-toothed brewer. If used in measured amounts, the butterscotch is not overly sweet, making it perfect as a recipe base for all kinds of the creative concoctions. It is also delicious just simply poured over ice for a quick afternoon pick-me-up.
12. Better Than Bulletproof Coffee
The Better than Bulletproof Coffee is a Bulletproof Blog creation, first made by their most prominent podcaster and award-winning author, Dave Asprey. The unusual part of this coffee is that butter is used as the second most important ingredient (after the java obviously). The premise of this coffee is to get a good dose of essential fats into your system, along with natural sugars present in the honey.
