Easter is fast approaching, and yes Easter marks all of the religious ceremonies that take place this time of year, alongside the symbolism of new beginnings and new life and new energy. But let’s face it the main thing we think of when we think of Easter, is CHOCOLATE.
These are ten chocolate recipes that will surely get you ready and in the mood for Easter – that all just happen to be vegan!
One of the greatest chocolate recipes. Hand whisk dairy free butter and sugar together, then whisk in the milk of your choice, then sift in flour and cocoa powder. Then mix it up – but don’t overdo it, we want it light and fluffy. Then spoon into your cupcake cases and cook for around 20mins. For the icing just combine butter icing sugar, cocoa powder, and a little milk. Add eggs for extra festive decoration.
Place a small pan over medium-low heat, half filled with boiling water, then place a medium heatproof bowl on top. Break in chocolate and melt. Meanwhile, line a medium bowl with a clean tea towel. Add the tofu, bunch up the tea towel and squeeze out the excess moisture into the bowl. Blend tofu with the remaining ingredients and a good pinch of sea salt, until smooth.
Add the melted chocolate and blend until silky, then pop in the fridge for 15 minutes to chill, then serve.
One of the most delicious chocolate recipes. Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the flax seeds, cinnamon, and vanilla and beat to combine. Stir in the sifted flour, cocoa, spices, and bicarbonate soda and mix just until soft dough forms. Roll out dough between 2 sheets of baking paper to 1/2 cm thickness and then refrigerate for 15 minutes until firm. Cut egg shape biscuits and place on lightly greased baking trays.
Bake at 180°C for around 12 minutes. Let sit on the tray on a wire rack for 10 minutes and then lift onto wire rack to cool.
One of my favorite chocolate recipes of all time. Melt together chocolate and peanut butter together in a bowl over gently simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from the heat, add the noodles and stir to combine.
Combine mixture with cereal, something resembling rice crispies and cornflakes. Then serve.
This one is one of the easiest and simple chocolate recipes to make. Insert wooden sticks into apple cores at the stem. Then melt chocolate into a bowl. When it’s melted, dip apples in the bowls creating a smooth even coat around the apples, add nuts and seeds to taste, then leave to dry.
Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Pour in water, vegetable oil, and vanilla; mix until well blended. Break up chocolate pieces and add this to the mixture. Then spread evenly in a baking tin. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in a preheated oven, until crispy on the outside, or gooey if that’s your preference.
These are super simple to make, and there’s no cooking involved, just melting! All you need to do is melt dark chocolate and coconut oil and add in cocoa powder, then add in some honey or golden syrup for sweetness, add some dried fruit chunks or nuts and flavouring for flavours or just keep plain. Then pour into an ice tray and leave in your freezer for a couple of hours. Pop out and eat!
The base for this easy, all you need is is cocoa butter and cacao powder, which make a rich chocolatey base when combined. Then add coconut milk for creaminess and a little natural sweetness. Then add blended dates for that sweetness and thickness.
Mix together, almond milk, chocolate or vanilla ice cream, dark chocolate and sea salt, and about 2 crumbled Oreos. Blend them together until its the texture you want then add into a glass. Squirt on whipped cream and add an Oreo on top for an extra treat.
Creme eggs are a great way to spruce up a traditional chocolate cheesecake. Get your favorite cheesecake recipe then mix in crushed creme eggs into your topping for a yummy Easter twist!
