Chocolate is life. Chocolate is everything. Even just eating a simple bar is an absolute delight. And it’s scientifically good for us because it triggers the release of endorphins and serotonin, which make us feel happy. Chocolate comes in many forms, cakes, ice-cream, biscuits and much much more. But one of the best ways to have it is as an after meal dessert. So get ready for chocolate desserts to make your mouth water.
Chocolate tart is a dessert consisting of dark chocolate, cream and eggs, beaten together, poured into a crisp, sweetened pastry shell and baked until firm. The textures in chocolate tart are delightful because you have the soft and smoothness of the filling and crispiness of the crust and base. It can be eaten on its own but this recipe is served with a sweet white chocolate sauce and raspberries for an extra punch.
There is only one thing better than a scrumptious, gooey and chocolatey dessert. A fast, scrumptious, gooey and chocolatey dessert. This recipe is so easy! Simply mix all of the ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, egg, milk, oil and vanilla essence) into a mug and cook in the microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until it has stopped rising and is firm to the touch. Absolutely life changing.
French toast is a dish made of sliced bread soaked in eggs and milk, then fried. I mean anything fried is incredible, right? And if it’s french toast does that mean we can have it for breakfast/brunch too? The answer is yes! The prep time on this is so quick (ten minutes) and so is the cooking time (8 minutes). So if you’re in a rush or desperately have to have a chocolate fix immediately then this is for you.
A simple chocolate pudding is classic but nonetheless delicious. The name of this pudding is because it creates its own sauce below the sponge in the base of the dish. Super clever! It’s also really simple because again all you have to do is mix all the ingredients (butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, milk, and eggs) into an ovenproof dish and cook on 180C for forty-five minutes.
Yeah, you heard right. No-bake! Cheesecake in any form or flavour is extraordinary so combining it with chocolate is the ultimate duo. The bottom layer often consists of either crushed cookies, graham crackers or a pastry and this recipe uses digestive biscuits (even better).
All you need to do is crush the digestive biscuits and mix with the melted butter and 1 tablespoon of the caster sugar. Press into a cake tin and refrigerate. The filling also has to be made by whipping cream until soft, adding cooled melted chocolate, then the cocoa powder mix. Beat the cream cheese and remaining sugar together. Fold in cream/chocolate mixture and mix thoroughly. Finally, spread onto the tin on top of crushed biscuits. Freeze for one hour and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Yummy!
Obviously, not everyone can eat dairy chocolate or desserts that use dairy in them but that doesn’t mean they have to miss out on the chocolate goodness! Pure chocolate and powder are actually milk free, so vegan safe. These brownies taste just like the real thing but use cocoa powder, dairy-free dark chocolate, and soya milk instead.
So there you have it. Hungry? Definitely. I’m sure you’re now inspired for your next dessert and can’t wait to make them. Just remember chocolate will be there for you in a way boys never can be. Enjoy!
