Negotiate

If you are in line for a promotion or interviewing for new positions, don’t accept their terms blindly. Negotiate! In Season five, Annalise has just won an unwinnable case- at the supreme court- and uses this to negotiate her job offers. Be a boss sss bitch and use all of your experience, achievements and know your worth. Argue the terms and make sure you get what you deserve. By doing so, people will know you aren’t going to be pushed around.

In work – especially collaborative industries – it’s easy for your voice to get lost among everyone else. If someone tells you no, don’t take that for an answer. Move mountains if you have to. Be Creative

It doesn’t matter what industry you work in, most jobs require their employees to get creative nowadays. Like Annalise, whose clients are constantly lying to her, she often has to think on her feet and get creative to win her cases. By being creative, you often come to conclusions that your co-workers won’t. Being creative will put you right to the top because it shows your willingness to get results.

Don’t Get Railroaded

If you are in a high power career – that is mostly male-dominated-  it is easy to get railroaded. Annalise Keating doesn’t let anyone push her to the side so why should you? If you have an opinion, speak up until people listen. Many are often intimidated by stating their view but by doing so, you will earn respect. It shows that you have something to say and won’t let anyone dismiss you.

Be Passionate

Even if you are working in an industry that you don’t like very much, find something to be passionate about. Even if it’s something small. It’s no secret that when you’re passionate at work, you tend to be more productive. By being passionate, it also shows you are completely interested in your job and this will be recognised by management.

Yet as women we have been conditioned to feel guilty if our success interferes with someone else’s. Maybe it’s our maternal instinct? But you need to push that feeling away. Annalise Keating never apologises for her success and that’s why she is at the top of her field. So if you want to be a boss ass bitch then revel in your success don’t hide behind it.

Confidence is Key

Everyone knows that more people radiate towards confident people rather than their shyer counterparts. By being confident, it highlights you know you’re good at your job and aren’t afraid to show it. Confidence is enigmatic and you’ll tend to have more people willing to help you because of it.
