Travel while you’re young we’re being told, but we don’t have the budget to do it. There are some amazing places out there with some incredible events that everyone has to do at some point in their lives. We all know the feeling of desperately wanting to fulfil some of the wanderlust places on our bucket list, but we don’t have the budget! These are 10 bucket list destinations that will be able to bend to your budget.

1. Dublin, Republic of Ireland

The home of Guinness, gorgeous accents and green shamrocks, Dublin is the place on many’s bucket list. Dublin doesn’t need to be expensive from the UK either, with flights ranging from £50-90 return during off season, a weekend away to Dublin could be well within your price range. Expedia hosts a good range of offers on flights, especially during quieter seasons, fitting to the University breaks and low periods at work. There are also many packages for bus pick ups from the airport, so that you can be taken into Dublin for a cheap price. Dublin speaks for itself in terms of beauty, there is no need to spend a lot of money on day excursions as Dublin has scenery to die for and music in the local bars to last you all night.

2. London

London is full of things to do on a budget, it is one of the best places in the world for young people to explore. For UK dwellers, London can be done easily on a budget. For students and young people, trains are your best friend, look into student travel cards or the 16-25 railcard for 1/3 off your travels! This can put a train ticket significantly cheaper and mean you can get into the centre for next to nothing! Also keep an eye on theatre ticket websites such as TodayTix which can mean you can get a full day’s experience in London a lot cheaper! Another way to do your bucket list destination on a budget!

3. Prague

One of the top bucket list destinations on a budget is Prague. Prague is home to beautiful scenery, gorgeous views and some of the best food and beer in Europe, and it all comes cheap! Eating and drinking in Prague is significantly cheaper than the rest of Europe, and means that you could get your weekend away on a budget! Keep an eye out for cheaper hostels and accommodation appealing to younger people, as well as cheap flights on SkySkanner and you might be able to get Prague on a budget!

4. Paris

Paris, the city of love! On most people’s bucket list, Paris is not cheap, however you can still have your bucket list destination on a budget! Keep an eye out for AirBnB’s in Paris, as you can rent out whole apartments and studios for a cheap price, which means you can cook within your apartment!

There are also lots of free activities in Paris that will make your trip worthwhile. Try visiting the Post Des Artes bridge and placing a lock amongst the other with your partner. This is a cheap activity to do and can even tick off another thing from the bucket list!

5. New York

The Big Apple, and one of the most expensive places in the world. However, this is one of the places that is at the top of most people’s bucket lists! New York can be done on a budget by watching out for deals on websites such as ‘Jack’s Flight Club’ which sends you emails on the cheapest deals to New York, with flights as low as £250! Staying in the outer boroughs of New York can also keep costs down, if you stay in Brooklyn or Queens and commute into Manhattan, you will save some money very quickly while still ticking off a bucket list destination on a budget!

6. Brighton

Brighton is one of the most unique places in England, and full of beautiful sunsets, interesting markets and the trendiest shops. Brighton is also home to the amazing Pride Festival in August which is definitely worth visiting every year. Booking hotels in advance for Brighton will cost cuts effectively, especially for events like this, there are also lots of free things to do in Brighton! Such as the ‘Lanes’ of Brighton which exhibit some of the most interesting shops and market stalls of England!

7. Amsterdam

Amsterdam is on everyone’s bucket list, the Dam Square, Anne Frank’s House and the famous coffee shops. Seeing Amsterdam in the winter can keep it on a budget, as Amsterdam in summer causes prices to skyrocket. Try seeing this beautiful city in the winter festive months to keep your budget in check! The city can also be seen by bicycle which can be rented cheaply, this is a great way to see your way around the city but also keep your budget down!

8. Budapest

One of the top bucket list locations to do on a budget is Budapest! From the luxurious baths and parties being hosted year round it is clear why this location is top on the list! Budapest can be done on a cheap budget, you just have to know what you want to do beforehand! Inter-railing is a cheap way to see a lot of your bucket list destinations, including Budapest on a budget, just chose your cities and times and off you go!

9. Bali, Indonesia

Travelling to Indonesia sounds like it will break the bank, however this doesn’t have to be the case! To eat and stay in Bali is actually very cheap, with food costing less than £5 for a full meal! Accommodation can also be super cheap for tourists, just do your research on the places you would like to go and make sure they are rated highly!

Using websites such as SkySkanner and Expedia will find you the best deals on flights for your holiday, just keep an eye on non peak time periods as these will be cheapest!

10. Greece

Greece is one of the most wished for bucket list destinations on a budget! With the incredible sights of Santorini, or the historic culture of Athens and Crete, Greece has really got something for everyone! If you fancy living as the locals do, you can get cheap accommodation and food in some of the smaller cities in Greece. However, places like Kos and Crete has cheaper all inclusive holidays to attract tourists in non peak months if you would like to be waited on!
