As a transatlantic girl (half British, half American), I truly get the best of both worlds when it comes to snacks! However, since I live in Britain, I consider myself a true connoisseur of British snacks and know exactly which ones my American relatives are most jealous of. Here are the best British snacks – in no particular order – that Americans are seriously missing out on!

A playground classic that is supposedly for sharing (ahem), the purple and orange ones are the best.
Pork pies push the boundaries of a snack, but they are a British classic guaranteed to please meat lovers.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt victimised by the tiny bags of chocolate buttons that are ‘one serving size’… Best to get yourself a sharing bag.
The snack that will make you feel a little posher. Crunchy, moreish and a little highbrow.
The only way to tell your primary school crush that you fancied them.
The epitome of British snacking, best smothered in butter, jam or Nutella. Make them extra British by consuming with a pot of tea after a bracing country walk.
Biscuit or cake? Either way, there is no better feeling than getting a bonus Jaffa Cake in one of those mini packs of six.
Another primary school classic! You’re never too grown up to enjoy a pack of Pom Bears.
The British snack that inspires the most jealousy amongst our American friends, Dairy Milk is the king of chocolate.
Ranked from stripes, fruttis to pinballs, of course.
Sponge and marzipan? A twenty-something grandma’s dream and just look at those on-trend pastel colours!
Totally worth the cheesy dust that you’ll find for hours after eating them and much tastier than their American counterpart, Cheetos.
Best enjoyed by a roaring fire and a huge mug of tea, perhaps alongside the crumpets from earlier?
A really hefty chocolate snack that’ll satisfy all of your chocolate cravings! For serious snackers only.
Incredibly addictive and made for anyone with a seriously sweet tooth.
