Deciding what make up to wear on nights out can be tricky. Especially when you have to factor in your skin tone. It’s a very difficult colour analysis to find out what colours work for you tonally and which colours you should avoid. Of course, you can go the opposite way and just say screw that I want to be glittery. If you want to wear a purple lip but are worried it wont suit you, screw it and wear that purple lip. You will look fierce. Here are some bold summer evening looks that we love.
So why does the beauty industry try and separate us? If you want to wear something because you think it’s cool, then you should wear it. Mostly, people are kind and will tell you how rocking you look wearing that glittery eye shadow.
No one really suits blue or yellow eye shadow, but they look bright, vibrant and so much fun when you wear them. – Wear them!
It doesn’t matter of the colour, it doesn’t matter of the shape. So many shops will try and patronise you into wearing what they think you should wear. But if you want to wear that flippy dress with the tight bodice over big boob, do it! It doesn’t matter if you have a bit of cleavage, flaunt what you’ve got.
If they have a size that fits you, in a product that you want then it’s perfect for you.
This was after the shop was called out for them improper sizing, they moved all the sizes down one and removed their size 16. H&M is just an example of how the beauty industry has created standards that they want the population to abide to, it is the same with creating make up looks. This is one of our favourite bold summer evening looks.
In clothing shops, you can be told you are different sizes in different shops and can be told that different styles of clothing suit you in different shops.
You should wear the sequinned dress, you should wear the bright red lippy, you should wear the bold sparkly pink eye shadow. If you feel confident and sexy, you don’t need society telling you to wear something else. You friends will think you look amazing, your crush will be impressed with your prowess, and everyone will think you look amazing. Be yourself, whoever that is and ignore the beauty industry.
We are striving to live in a society of inclusivity, so for that we shouldn’t be excluding people based on their skin tone. We should be including everyone and letting everybody wear whatever the hell they want for bold summer evening looks.
