Binge-Worthy TV Series To Watch This Fall

The Fall season is the perfect time to lay on your couch surrounded by blankets and numerous pillows while you binge-watch TV series. They require more commitment than movies, that’s true, but the pay off is worth it if you’ve picked a good TV series. We’ve compiled a list of amazing TV series to give you an idea of what you can watch this Fall. Here is our list of binge-worthy shows:

1. New Amsterdam (2018- )

If you’ve been a fan of Grey’s Anatomy, at any moment in your life, then New Amsterdam is the perfect TV series for you. Not only is it dramatic and binge-worthy, but every episode will have you shedding at least a few tears.

Some may say that this show is even better than Grey’s Anatomy and the new medical director (Ryan Eggold) of New Amsterdam is definitely one to watch out for as he causes havoc for the good of everyone.

2. La Casa De Papel (2017- )

Since the newest season of La Casa De Papel (or Money Heist for the regular folk) was released in July, there are more episodes to binge-watch and be satisfied. A TV series with many cliffhangers and plot twists, it will definitely leave you on the edge of your seat.

It all began when a handful of different people came together to rob the Factory of Moneda and Timbre in what may be known as the perfect plan. All led by one man on the outside called El Profesor (Alvaro Morte). 

Spoken in Spanish, but English subtitles are available. If you do not like foreign shows for whatever known reason then yes, you can find the TV series dubbed in English.

3. Peep Show (2003-2015)

A hilarious and incredibly British TV series surrounding two flatmates, Mark and Jeremy, who are played by long-time friends David Mitchell and Robert Webb. 

All the episodes are unbelievably funny that you won’t stop laughing the entire season of Fall. Cosy up on the couch, have a cup of coffee and watch the weird antics of the two flatmates as we can hear the thoughts in their head, too.

4. Evil Genius (2018)

Documentary series are what Fall is all about, especially when they are true crime ones. Evil Genius is a four-part series about the murder of Brian Wells and the conspiracies surrounding the high-profile incident also referred to as the “pizza-bomber”.

It’s anticipatory and it will shake you to your core. Who is involved? Why is everything like a web of lies? And is Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong the mastermind behind it all?

5. Euphoria (2019- )

This TV series has been gaining popularity fast this past summer and everyone has been going crazy over Zendaya’s new series, and rightly so. 

Euphoria tackles the real-life issues that teenagers in high school face whether it’s drugs, sex, violence or themselves. It is an honest portrayal of teenagers and the acting is immaculate from everyone involved. Starring new and old faces such as Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, and Storm Reid.

6. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (2005- )

If you were looking for a TV series that is easy to watch while all the characters do stupid stuff on the daily, well It’s Always Sunny is the show for you. Five friends, who own a pub in Philadelphia together, all have clashing personalities with massive egos. 

Whether it’s getting addicted to crack or figuring out who pooped in the sofa bed that Frank and Charlie (Danny DeVito and Charlie Day) share, this TV series is never boring.

7. Plan Coeur (2018- )

Plan Couer, or also otherwise known as The Hookup Plan, is a wholesome TV series about friendships, love, and betrayal.

Elsa can’t forget her ex, so her best friend secretly hires an escort, who looks like a French Tom Hardy, to help her move on. However, things are never that simple and the plan becomes complicated.

A funny TV series that will have you relating to the characters and rooting for the Parisian Elsa who has no luck at love whatsoever. 

Originally in French, but once again, can be dubbed into English.

8. Broadchurch (2013-2017)

Starring the incredible David Tennant and Olivia Colman, the duo make an amazing pairing in this crime TV series. When a young boy is found murdered in a small coastal town, the community is in an uproar as they try to figure out which one of them did it.

Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller are the two people assigned to the case and every thread they untangle brings more chaos. Broadchurch will have you hooked the first episode.

9. When They See Us (2019)

This TV mini-series is about the Central Park Five case which drove New York City wild. Based on a true story, When They See Us is a powerful and thrilling look at the justice system and how five boys from Harlem could be easily falsely accused if you just put the right pressure on them. 

The acting is spectacular from everyone, especially the five boys. Starring Asante Blackk, Caleel Harris, Ethan Herisse, Marquis Rodriguez and Jharrel Jerome.

10. Grace And Frankie (2015- )

Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are a duo like no other. They work well together as their characters are complete opposites, but they find a way to become closer and closer every day. 

The friendship begins to form when they find out that their husbands have been romantically involved with another for twenty years, and they decide to live together. Not only are they coping with their husband’s betrayal but also with their age, being alone and independent.

11. La Casa De Las Flores (2018- )

Another international TV series that deserves a spot on this binge-worthy list! The House of Flowers is all about a family’s secrets. More so, about the powerful matriarch of the family and the facade, she tries to maintain when her husband’s mistress reveals their dirty secrets. 

A family that’s usually in the spotlight due to the family-run business of flowers, they risk losing everything. 

A dark comedy that will have you wanting more once the season has ended.

12. Big Little Lies (2017- )

HBO has been producing fantastic TV series for years now, but no one really pays that much attention until it’s too late.

Big Little Lies has been a top favourite binge-worthy show for a lot of people and not only for its star-studded cast. The characters are all three-dimensional and it revolves around the women of Monterey. 

The lives of five upper-class mothers unravel to the point of murder when a single-mother moves to Monterey, a quiet prestigious town. Their lives, which seemed perfect at first, are revealed for what they really are. Starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Meryl Streep in Season 2!

13. Fleabag (2016-2019)

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is an incredible writer and creator to have brought us the gift of Fleabag. A completely dark no limits comedy about the life of a young woman in London as she deals with her family, love, and loss. 

Fleabag is also a show that breaks the fourth wall which is fascinating when it’s done properly! It is funny, emotional and brilliantly done.

14. Safe (2018)

A total of 8 episodes, this binge-worthy TV series is one that can’t be stopped until you’ve watched it all in one sitting. Not only will it have you on the edge of your seat, but you’ll find yourself questioning everyone involved.

15. Bob’s Burgers (2011- )

Bob’s Burgers is a TV series all about family, burgers and cheesy humour. Bob Belcher and his family try to stay afloat in the burger industry while also trying to keep the family together. 

It is a funny and wholesome TV series that will have you chuckling at the weirdest of parts.

Bob Belcher is voiced by the same person (H. Jon Benjamin) who voices the titular character of Archer! So, if you ever thought you know Bob, you probably do.

16. Killing Eve (2018- )

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, what more can she do? Like the fantastic Fleabag, she also wrote the first season of Killing Eve which was exhilarating, funny and suspenseful. It follows the lives of an assassin (Jodie Comer) and a security operative (Sandra Oh) as they play a game of cat and mouse. 

Their lives become inextricably linked to the point where they are obsessed with each other. 

One of the most well-made, binge-worthy TV series of the century.

 17. Santa Clarita Diet (2017-2019)

Netflix honestly has a habit of cancelling their best TV series on the platform. Santa Clarita Diet, unfortunately, was not an exception.

Starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as a married couple in a suburban neighbourhood, their lives completely change when Sheila dies. Inexplicably, she suddenly has a craving for human flesh which is alarming for Joel (Olyphant). 

The comedic duo does whatever they can to figure Sheila’s (Barrymore) situation out without alarming anyone, with the help of their daughter (Liv Hewson) and teenage neighbour (Skyler Gisondo).

18. The Sinner (2017- )

With one of the best first seasons to ever grace our screens, The Sinner is an indescribable TV series that will shake you to your core. Actually, an anthology series that examines why ordinary people commit brutal crimes, currently it is at 2 seasons. 

If you liked Mindhunter, you will love The Sinner. It is a TV series like no other that will have you trying to solve the crime, too. But you won’t be anywhere close.

19. Russian Doll (2019- )

Natasha Lyonne is Nadia Vulvokov, which is essentially, the Russian Doll. A sort of darker Groundhog Day, the cynical Nadia keeps on dying and then returning to the party that’s being thrown in her honor on the same evening. Like an endless cycle, she must find an out from this loop.

However, when she thinks she’s getting closer to the truth, she’s taking two steps back. What about parallel universes? 

A dark comedic drama about the complicated lives we lead and what it all actually means.

20. Dark (2017- )

Dark, a German TV series, is one of the most compelling and fascinating shows out there at the moment. Like a more complicated and darker Stranger Things, Dark will take the audience down a road of endless possibilities. 

A family saga with a supernatural element, where the disappearance of two young children in a German town exposes the relationships among four families.
