1. Pieminister

This famous pie shop has award-winning pies for everyone.  From their gluten free options to their meat pies and meatless pies, it’s the perfect meal spot for any group of people.  They use ethical, locally sourced ingredients to make delicious traditional British dishes.

2. Pure Vegi

Located in the heart of Handsworth, this diner is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Birmingham.  With plenty of vegan options and a serious dedication to perfectly satisfying the customer, the chefs are happy to cook the food however you please.  They have a wide range of menu options that will be sure to satisfy anyone.

3. Shambhala Village

This purely vegetarian restaurant is family owned and uses all locally grown and produced ingredients to create delicious and unique dishes.  They have dishes from all regions of the world, from Mexican to Indian to Chinese!  They are common caterers in the festival scene, you’ve probably seen them at Glastonbury and Reading.

4. Mr. Singh’s

Mr. Singh’s is Birmingham’s only vegetarian pizza restaurant.  Their veggie and vegan pizzas are for everyone; they have salty, sweet, spicy, and (fake) meaty options that go great along some of their 23 side options.  Their food is so beloved among the vegetarian community that they have expanded to other locations around England so you can get Mr. Singh’s wherever you are!

Not Dogs serves… well… not hot dogs, but they do sell the vegetarian and vegan equivalent!  This quirky restaurant has awesome #meatywithoutthemeat dogs that can come smothered in guacamole, caramelised beer-fried onions, or tikka-masala.  You’ve GOT to try them!

6. The Warehouse Cafe

This award-winning cafe was one of the first vegetarian restaurants in Birmingham.  It resides in an old converted warehouse, and prides itself in its British comfort foods with an international twist.  They recycle mostly everything they use, and buy organic and fair-trade wherever possible.  This sustainable and earth-friendly cafe is sure to cure all your veggie cravings.

7. Carters of Moseley

If you’re looking to compromise with carnivores, Carters of Moseley is your place.  They have 2 separate menus for lunch and dinner- one for meat eaters, and one for vegetarians.  The dishes are known for having a clean flavor, with nothing too heavy.  You really can’t go wrong with anything on any of their menus, it’s all guaranteed to make your taste buds happy.

8. Veggie Hut

This small fast-food joint is perfect for a quick meal.   Their long menu is known for its amazing meat substitutes, and the Chili Chips are to die for.  There are plenty of vegan options as well!

In addition to being one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Birmingham, Jyoti’s is also one of the best Indian restaurants.  Order from their extensive menu of sweet and savory traditional Indian dishes for take away or sit in, just make sure you check the funky opening hours online before you go!

10. 1847 – Birmingham

Located in the Great Western Arcade, 1847 is probably the most Instagram worthy of the bunch.  This modern vegetarian restaurant pushes the boundaries of what most people think about vegetarian food by curating a menu of delicious and unique dishes that are sure to satisfy your veggie cravings. They also have great cocktail menu that’s worth a look!
