The menu for Newcastle’s Sky Apple Cafe changes ever six weeks offering a variety of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan food with an exciting twist to the menu. The Sky Apple Cafe was way ahead of its time when it opened in 2002 in the heart of Newcastle located on Heaton Road. The cafe sells fresh vegan cheeses to take home after trying the delicious vegan cakes which include: chocolate and vanilla, lemon with poppy seed and apple and vanilla which uses scrumptious apple puree. With a relaxed atmosphere, the cafe serves hearty healthy breakfasts and serves tea. Everything is suitable for vegans and is totally affordable. Some of the main dishes include deep-fried halloumi, vegan fish, sky apple vegan burger, vegan battered sausages and even curry. It’s a great place to visit to eat healthily and dive into some delicious home-made food at any time of the day!

3) The Ship Inn

The menu includes tasty Tofu ‘Fish’ n Chips, Aloha Hawaiian burger, Vegan Cheesy Nachos and King Pao Cauliflower to tickle your taste buds. Located just off Stepney Bank close by Manors Metro Station, The Ship Inn offers a delicious take on traditional British food that is entirely vegan. The Ship Inn is also one of the oldest pubs in the area offering affordable and delicious food and drinks all day. It has also been rated 92 out of over a thousand restaurants on Tripadvisor as one of the best places to eat in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

4) Wildflower

Serving delicious Peruvian cuisine is Newcastle’s Wildflower vegan-friendly restaurant. The menu includes a scrumptious variety of food including saucy ceviche, wild wontons, Latin roots which are comprised of steamed vegetables and dumplings, peanut sauce and lime-pickled flower fish with cucumber. What’s more is that a small plate costs only £3 while a large plate is £6 making this one of the most affordable restaurants serving healthy food with vegan options, located just off Stepney Bank just down the road from Manors Metro Station. Though you wouldn’t think that this notorious Italian restaurant would cater to vegetarians and vegans, surprisingly it does.
