And, of course, summer means lots of lush music festivals everywhere! Indeed, it’s the best period of the year for enjoying the beats of your favorite DJs and artists open air, choosing between rave on boats, beaches, forests, fields or historical cities. On top of that, you don’t need to go too far for experiencing some of the best music festivals around!

There is so much to discover in Europe that taking a choice could be really hard. To help you out, here a list of some of the best music festival that you can’t miss this upcoming season. Read on, book your ticket and be prepared to boost your summer fun up!

1. Glastonbury Festival – UK

After one year of stop, the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world is back! On of the best music festivals that you can find around, it takes place in the Vale of Avalon, 900 acres of stunning location steeped in symbolism, mythology and religious traditions. From 26th to 30th of June you could experience the best weekend of your life! Tickets are now sold out, but don’t be worried: you will have the last chance for buying your ticket thanks to the April re-sales. Although the lineup is not confirmed yet, in the past big artists like Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran made thousands of people dance. So, we can expect an explosion of big names also for this edition. If you never been yet, this summer could be the right year!

2. Sziget – Hungray

It’s over a decade that Sziget is became an obligatory destination for every festival-goer. Indeed, thanks its reputation, organisers could not market it anymore and selling all tickets out very quickly anyway. Considered one of the best music festivals in Europe, it is located in the beautiful island of Danube, in the middle of Budapest. A variegate lineup that includes, just for citing some names, Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Martin Garrix, Idles and The Blaze. It surely will satisfy all the tastes of its attendees, among 60 stages for 7 days straight, from 7th to 13th of August. Not just music though! “The Island of Freedom” is also an occasion for celebrating culture, art and entertainment. Indeed, you will find multiple venues, including a circus, museum quarter and theatre, where you can watch performances of artists from all over the world. So, if you are looking for great music, culture and beach, Sziget is the right answer!

3. EXIT – Serbia

Helding annually at the Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad, its location is considered as one of the best music festival venues in the world. A legendary dance arena with 40 different stages that twist and turn inside the ditches, between the canals and even in the fortress tunnels. From 4th to 7th of July, you will experience four amazing nights of music on the banks on the Danube. A mix of rock, indie and electronic beats will drive you throughout the event. This edition is signed from artists of high caliber, such as The Cure, Carl Cox, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Greta Van Fleet. On top of that, EXIT is unique in the world since it started as a student movement fighting for peace and democracy in Serbia and Balkans. A strong social mission that this year is translated in the project EXIT Tribe: 6 events, 6 different locations, 5 different countries, from March to November. Check it out!

4. Meadows in the Mountains – Bulgaria

Are you looking for a magical experience? Well, you should definitely go to Meadows in the Mountains! A breathtaking location 850 meters above sea level in the Rhodope Mountains is the home for this multi-genre music festival, from 7th to 9th June. Creative musicians outside the mainstream, social harmony and self expression: these are the ingredients you will be part of. Four different stages, folk traditions from local villagers, yoga classes and a forest in which get lost and reconnecting yourself with the wild nature. What can you ask more? A pool party in a spa for ending your experience, of course!

5. Primavera Sound – Spain and Portugal

Taking place across two countries, respectively Barcelona from 30th of May till the 1st of June and Porto from 7th to 9th of June, Primavera Sound is on of the best music festivals where you will find a big selection of international artists as well as a significant representations of the Spanish and Portuguese musical scenario. Hymn to creativity and alternative scene, this edition is also signed from the campaign #thenewnormal, booking as many female headliners as male ones. Well, a reason more for supporting this event! So, check the lineups for the two dates and choose the one you prefer.

6. Dimensions – Croatia

Perfect place for electronic music enthusiasts, here you will have the chance to dance under the beats of big DJs from top-notch techno, soulful house and drum ‘n bass scene. Located in a 200-year old abandoned fort, Dimensions Festival will provide four days, from 28th of August till 1st of September, of raves between beach, forest, boat and amphitheatre parties. A unique location, Fort Punta Christo, that with the 2019 edition will sign the end of an era. Indeed, this will be their final year among ruins, pine trees and beautiful crystal blue water.
