The Best Morning Routine For Those Who Work A 9-5

It can sometimes be difficult to stay in a healthy routine and maintain a sleeping pattern to get us through those 9 to 5’s. Sometimes we often find it difficult to sleep or even organise ourselves properly resulting in rushing around in the morning and even then, forgetting to do something because we become unfocused. That’s why we have planned a 9 to 5 routine that may help you to change the way you go about things, so you feel refreshed and are ready to tackle the eight hours ahead. So here are some tips on how to have the best morning routine!

1. Sleeping Routine

This is probably the most crucial step to ensure that your morning routine gets off without a hitch. Having a sleeping routine not only makes us feel refreshed for the day ahead but is also a large factor in how we keep healthy, physically and mentally. We can’t function properly without a decent night’s sleep, so that’s why it is best to plan a timeframe from a point of sleeping to the point when your alarm goes off. It is recommended that eight hours of sleep is best, and it’s best to make sure that you go to bed at the right time, so you get a sufficient amount of sleep. Another recommendation is to put your phone into aeroplane mode so that any notifications you may get during the night won’t wake you up while you’re sleeping.

2. If you snooze you lose

It is what it is and if you keep hitting that snooze button and refuse to get out of bed then you risk being late for work. We know, it’s difficult especially if it is a Monday morning because we’ve had a whole weekend of staying in bed late into the morning and bed is just too cosy, but if you motivate yourself you are likely to achieve more with your Monday. You’ll get so much more out of your week if you set an alarm that ensures you have time to wake up before you get up and start your day off. I know it’s tempting, but if you keep hitting the snooze button, you will not have the best morning routine.

3. Breakfast

One of the most important meals of the day is said to be breakfast and it can be a one that we tend to skip, even though it has the most benefits when starting off our day right. Whether it’s toast, cereal, fruit, porridge etc. breakfast is something that provides energy and to sustain it throughout the day to avoid becoming fatigued. Therefore, it is best to incorporate breakfast into your morning routine to avoid becoming tired and will increase your motivation to tackle the tasks at hand throughout the day. We also understand that we can also put ourselves off eating breakfast because it seems boring sometimes, but remember you can get creative with what you have to make it a little more interesting and exciting. It’s best to have breakfast as soon as you get up to help you wake up and help you feel ready for the day ahead.

4. Choosing an outfit

There’s no doubt that if we have a job that doesn’t require a particular uniform, that it can sometimes be difficult to choose something suitable to wear. Depending on the job, some employers expect smart-casual or smart. But that doesn’t mean that you have to wear something mundane or uncomfortable or even something that doesn’t add any light to your mood. Motivation can be expressed in the clothing we choose to wear and therefore provides a more positive attitude if we wear something we feel happy in. Black is usually the preferred colour, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add some colour, whether it be in accessories, makeup or plain block colour clothing that’s smart and says, ‘I’m ready’. Preparing your outfits will definitely help you have the best morning routine!

5. Travel arrangements

Whether you drive or go to work by public transport, it is best to take into consideration the risks that could happen which might delay you in getting to work on time. As we all know, public transport can sometimes be unreliable due to random delays or cancellations, which can make our journey longer than anticipated and then comes the stress of arriving to work late. Drivers on the road also understand that sometimes the traffic can be hectic during the dreaded rush hour and can also be an unpredictable factor. Not to worry though, if you head out earlier, you have a higher chance of avoiding these risks and if they do occur, then you still have time to make up for it ensuring you get to work on time.
