Summer is finally here and we all want to look fabulous on a night out, even when it’s hot! On your summer holidays, you are less keen to wear a lot of foundation or powder, and even your favourite eye pencil is likely smudge, so why not to aim for a perfect and easy eye shadow look? As a massive fan of eye shadows, I love a simple makeup where my eyes are the main focus. I’m always on the look for new and vibrant shades, creamy, shimmery or matte. Here are my suggestions for the best long lasting eyeshadow to wear on a summer night out!
This palette is so famous that it doesn’t need any introduction! It’s affordable, versatile and of supreme quality. Its warm shades are just perfect for a summer evening at the beach! In particular, I would recommend the shimmery shade scorched on the eyelid (number 8 from the bottom) and a bit of ashes in the crease (number 11). A veil of mascara and you’re good to go!
You can never go wrong with these beautiful creamy eye shadows. There are plenty of shades to choose from and they are so easy to apply, both with your fingers or with a brush. 100 champagne is one of my absolute summer favourites. You can wear it by itself, or blend it with low blow, from the Naked Heat palette (number 4), for a more sophisticated look. To intensify your makeup, apply a thin line of brown matte eye shadow along the top lash line and below the bottom. This is definitely a best long lasting eyeshadow.
If you’re after a classic and vintage look, this Chanel collection is excellent for your summer nights out. At the moment, I’m particularly loving 75 Magic Night, a shimmery dark purple, with a soft and glamour feel.
Etude House is a Korean brand, which produces affordable and good-quality beauty products. Their highly pigmented eye shadows are simply amazing, and contain super silica, which contributes to make your look soft and silky: just what you want on a hot summer night! Try the shade OR204 – a beautiful light bronze. This is a reliable best long lasting eyeshadow.
How can you survive through summer without a copper eye shadow? My favourite is a pressed shadow powder by ColorPop, in the shade High Stung, a metallic dusty rose. If, like me, you can’t get enough of coppery shades, you’ll also love their Weenie, darker and with a shimmer rose gold touch.
I think there’s nothing sexier than an intense smokey eye: it can make your eyes shine like nothing else! It looks amazing with every eye colour and every skin complexion. This palette by Dior – small and handy – is ideal if you’re tired of the basic black smokey eye and you feel like trying something different, on your special summer night out.
Red and purple tones are just superb for the summer season. This palette combines them with golden shimmer and butter shades, which you could also use as highlighters on your cheekbones and brow ridges. The Vintage Vamp is superlative, for both night and day summer looks.
If you have brown or dark eyes, you’ll be obsessed this electric blue shade. Apply Cressida and a bit of blue mascara, keep your lips hydrated with a lip oil and your summer look is complete!
