The 9 Best Clubs In Glasgow To Dance Your A** Off In

Having lived in Glasgow for the past four years, I’ve been on my fair share of nights out. Some of these have definitely been more successful than others – we won’t get into those now. I’m very much trying to forget a lot of it. A trail of embarrassment follows me. In any case, if you would like to venture out into the nights of Glasgow, I’ve compiled a handy little list of all the places that are, in my humble yet seasoned opinion, worth your time and money and the inevitable fear that presides over the morning after. As a city, Glasgow offers a wide mix of nights – from house (both local talent and world-renowned DJs) to silly, fun, no-care-in-the-world fun boogeying, the city has something for everyone, and every mood. So, here’re my 9 best clubs In Glasgow to dance your ass off in:

1. Sub Club

The infamous Glasgow institution has hosted an incredible amount of world-renowned DJs – Peggy Gou, Jayda G, and Honey Dijon having played over the past year. The sound system is hooked to the floor so you can feel the bass vibrating through, and you’re always guaranteed an incredible night. It does get sweaty, though, so dress accordingly.

2. SWG3

Located in a massive warehouse in the trendy Finnieston area, SWG3 puts on a variety of events and club nights ranging from hip-hop to techno. Seeing Bicep play here was one of the highlights of my 2017. It is definitely one of the best clubs in Glasgow, one you should not miss!

3. La Cheetah

One of the smaller house venues in Glasgow, La Cheetah plays host to an eclectic mix of nights and DJs, as well as having regularly changing residencies throughout the year. It’s located below Max’s Bar and Grill, so you can chill upstairs with a pint if you get too tired of boogeying.

4. Mango

I had to include Mango on this list, not because it’s particularly good (it’s not) but purely due to the fact that it’s one of the funniest places around. During weeknights all of their cocktails at £3.50, and their tequila shots are only £1. So. It gets messy.

5. Flat 0/1

Flat 0/1 is fantastic for supporting up-and-coming local talent. It’s designed to look like someone’s living room, too, which is pretty fun. It’s always free entry, too!

6. Stereo

One of my favourite nights in the world, Push It, is held at Stereo every month. It’s a night of 90s, 00s, and 10s RnB/Pop/Hip-Hop, all from female artists. It’s a lot of fun.

7. Berkeley Suite

Their weekly reggae night hosted by Mungo’s Hi-Fi has been immensely popular for years. Alongside this they host vast amounts of house nights, as well as the monthly Supermax, which is a disco/funk/house night with queues around the corner, so get down early.

8. Broadcast

Located under a bar serving great (and cheap) White Russians, Broadcast always has music on during the weekends! Alongside this, they host a variety of regular club nights held by up-and-coming Glaswegian DJs.

9. The Art School

Glasgow School of Art’s student union is one of the most popular clubs in town, and for a reason. Sprawling over two floors with relatively cheap drinks, their events and nights are always a whole lot of fun, and is definitely not student-only. They’ve held the Red Bull Music Academy club nights, Itchy Feet, and SoulJam over the past few years, as well as having a multitude of DJs perform.
