Over the past few months, Manchester has been opening its doors to the city’s newest pet cafes. From cute pugs to puppy sausage dogs and even cats, there’s something for all you animal lovers out there! Whether you are a pet owner or just love animals, you can now enjoy a bite to eat and drink while chilling out with your favourite breed of animal and get away from the stresses of life. Here are the best dog and cat cafes in Manchester where you can go for some pet therapy!
The first pet café to open its doors in Manchester last year is the very popular Central Bark. The interior of the café brings beachside vibes to give you a chilled atmosphere to sit and relax while being surrounded by the attention of adorable dogs and puppies. This café screams cute and friendly by playing on the TV show “FRIENDS” by changing the infamous Central Perk to “Central Bark”. Being animal-friendly, you can bring your dogs no matter the breed, which ensures that your dog can also have a happy and healthy social life – while they make friends and enjoy the café to its fullest. Being an indoor and outdoor centre for doggy day care services, you can feel confident that your dog is being looked after if you fancy having a quiet cup of tea while your dog is having fun elsewhere. It’s also a great place to socialise with other dog owners and get to know people from the local area! A full day for your dog at this café costs £19.50 while four hours costs you £12.50 and in this, your dog gets to have a fun day out while being professionally supervised by dog handlers. There’s even a ‘snuggle hut’ where your dog can chill out and get some much-needed cuddle time. This dog café is located just south of Manchester’s city centre in Wythenshawe just around the corner from Roundthron tram stop, making this accessible travelling from Manchester city centre.
One of the iconic cafes in Manchester to go for some pet therapy is Cat Café. The recently renovated cafe offers the chance for cat owners and lovers of the animal to go and socialise for a fun-filled day of cuddling kittens. Located on Manchester’s High Street, the Cat Cafe is just a stone’s throw away from the Printworks making it one of the most accessible pet cafe’s in Manchester’s city centre. It has become so popular since opening its doors in 2016, that you have to book a space through their website because it gets so busy! It has become a stress-free zone for everybody to enjoy in a comforting interior while being surrounded by cute kittens and cats, because who doesn’t want to be surrounded by cute pets that give you an endless supply of attention? This is one of the perfect cafes in Manchester to pop into to relax and unwind while being surrounded by one of your favourite domesticated pets.
With the pet cafe craze spreading slowly and branching into Manchester’s city centre, The Dachshund Cafe will be opening its doors soon for all you sausage dog lovers out there! The pop-up cafe is set to open its doors later this year in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, not far from Manchester Piccadilly train station. There will even be a menu for the dogs featuring pupcakes, dognuts and puppicinos to make sure that your dog isn’t left out when it comes to ordering treats! The event will be held on July 8th at Yard & Coop and will be the second event of its kind since the pop up Pug Cafe earlier this year. Pop-up puppy cafe’s are becoming a new trend in Manchester’s city centre with plenty of opportunities for dog owners and dog lovers in Manchester to socialise! The sausage dog pop cafe coming this July in Manchester will be the world’s first of its kind!
