There are so many gorgeous bags that every influencer, celebrity and ‘It’ girl is wearing now. We’ve got you covered if you want tiny, oversized, structured, patterned – if it’s trendy, it’s here.
This used to be that ‘dad’ bag that you wore on holiday and looked like the epitome of a tourist, but the bum bag has been given a chic new update and is now everywhere. Seen on the catwalks of Givenchy and Burberry, the bum bag has been given new features like trendy metal buckles and leather straps. The models were carrying it on the Chanel catwalks instead of the classic strapping around your waist, but the latter is still as trendy and very practical. Black leather studded styles like this one will also last you through to autumn and winter!

Sometimes called ‘basket bags’, they come in a variety of styles, from tote to little crossbody, and they exude summer vibes as a classic beach bag choice. Woven bags have been seen in Isabel Marant and Michael Kors, and are a timeless summer bag. Look for a multi-coloured style if you want to branch out from the classic straw colour, but you can’t beat the original.

Dolce Gabbana, Kenzo and even Topshop have made this their bag of the season, and it’s not difficult to see why. My personal favourite, the box bag is cute, structured, and looks best in a stand out statement colour or pattern. It’s perfect if, like me, you don’t carry tons of things in your bag and want to make a small but powerful addition to an outfit.

The classic backpack has been given a chic new makeover, and its new size makes it an adorable feature for any outfit. It can be dressy if you go leather, as seen in Moschino and Chloe, and it’s perfect for a city break or a day trip to carry your essentials. Or why not wear to a festival – after all, it’s miniature, and won’t bulk up your laid back festival style.

Neon is everywhere this summer, so why not wear it with a bag too? These bags are a great way to subtly inject a little crazy colour into an outfit if you’re not brave enough to go bigger. From Armani to Versace, neon bags are lighting up the spring/summer runways.

These bags are so called for their bucket-like shape, and are usually cross body or have a simple handle. It’s almost like a duffel bag but has a more structured shape with a flat bottom, and they’ve been featured by designers such as Prada and Gucci. Score double points for summer trends and wear an animal pattern or pastel colour.

Popular on the runways of Armani and Stella McCartney, the oversized tote has been a popular all-season bag for years now. This season, it’s only getting more oversized and is perfect for many occasions, from a regular day at the office to a weekend away.

This new craze is cute, vintage-inspired and can be worn with any outfit. Geometric bags take their inspiration from shapes, with styles from rhombus to triangle being sported on the runways of Balenciaga, Saint Laurent and many more. The kookier the shape, the cooler the trend. Just make sure you don’t need to take that many things in your bag – it’s more of a fashion statement than a hold-all!
