10 Apps That’ll Help You Achieve Totally Insta-worthy Shots

Struggling to create an aesthetic Insta profile? We feel you. So here are 10 apps that will help you get those Insta-worthy shots.

Ever wonder how people get such aesthetic Instagram profiles? Ever wonder how they edit their photos? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Here you’ll find 10 apps that will help you get those totally Insta-worthy shots.

1. Afterlight 2

Not only does this app have the basic editing features you’d expect (brightness, contrast, clarity, exposure, saturation, etc.) but it also has an array of filters to play with. Afterlight’s coolest feature would have to be the Fusion Tool, which allows users to merge filters into one blended filter. The only con I have for this app is it’s only available for IOS users, not Android. Boo! However, for IOS users out there, this app is guaranteed to get you those Insta-worthy shots you’re after.

2. Snapseed

Snapseed is very similar to Afterlight, and available on both IOS and Android. That’s right, I’ve got you Android users. Snapseed’s most handy tool is it’s interactive Selective Tool which allows users to tap on any object/section of their photo and edit the brightness, contrast and saturation of that particular section, leaving the rest of the picture unaltered.

3. VSCO

VSCO has all the basics, and more! Exposure, contrast, saturation, sharpness, tint, temperature, graininess, you name it. VSCO is definitely one of my favourite photo editing apps for those Insta-worthy shots. I love how you can play with the tint of the shadows and highlights in your images. Very cool!

4. Photoshop Express

Photoshop Express is basically just a scaled down version of Photoshop for your mobile! The app is great for last minute touches such as text overlays, borders, light and colour adjustments, etc.

5. Fotor

Fotor is another great app for those classic Insta-worthy shots, with a stylish collage maker, over 300 photo effects and multiple professional editing tools. Plus, it’s free. Even better.

6. Camera+

Camera+ is a more advanced photo editing app, perfect for photographers just starting out. This app is unique as it allows users to control things like sensitivity and shutter speed when capturing photos.

7. Pro-Camera

Pro-Camera is a handy photo editing app to have as you can edit your photos AND videos. Sweet. Main features for this app include low light, full screen triggers, anti-shake, pro timer, etc. I personally love the pro photo timer feature, as sometimes you want to take bomb pictures but don’t have anyone to help you. This is when this app comes in handy.

8. Facetune

Facetune is another one of my favourites for Instaworthy-shots. Have a blemish you want to erase? Sure! Want to give that highlighter and eye shadow a bit of a pop? You got it! Facetune is an amazing tool to have if you want perfect Insta-worthy selfies. Some influencers (such as beauty YouTuber James Charles) have filmed how they Facetune their selfies and trust me, it’s a total game changer!

9. Huji Cam

This totally retro, disposable-camera like app is a must-have if you’re going for that vintage, faded vibe. It will definitely give you those Insta-worthy shots, from the cool coloured effect, lens flare and date stamp.

10. VaporCam

For the more artsy crowd, this app is for you! This app is amazing for Insta-worthy shots, with features like ‘Vaporwave’ styles, GIFS, stickers, templates, VHS effects, glitch effects, and many more artistic filters. The only downside to this app is you only have access to the basic features for free, otherwise VaporCam PRO will cost $19.99 USD for a yearly subscription which gives you complete access to the features.
