It’s 2018 and the skincare movement is bigger than ever, baby! From Glossier’s “skin first, makeup second” motto, to the Kardashians flaunting their facials all over Instagram, everyone’s getting in on really looking after their skin. But where to start? What products do you need, and what order do you use them in? Follow these easy skincare routines that anyone can do – I’ll explain what the products do, why you need them, and when to use them. You’ll be glowing in no time!
This is arguably the most important step in anyone’s skincare routine. (For your morning routine, skip to step 2). Sleeping in your make up can lead to clogged pores, acne, and dull, lifeless skin. Grim! You can have a browse of the best drugstore make up removers here, but I would recommend the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm for a thorough yet gentle cleanse suited to all skin types.
You may have heard the term “double cleansing” floating around. It basically means using one cleanser as a makeup remover, and another to properly cleanse your skin. Once your face is clear of makeup, it’s time to really give your pores a deep clean with a face wash. Which product you choose is really up to you, depending on your skin type – oily, dry, combination, sensitive, browse your local drugstore and you’ll find one easily!
You only need to do this a few times a week, but it’s an important step in any skincare routine. An exfoliating scrub will help to get rid of dead skin, leaving you buffed, polished and glowing. I love easy skincare routines like this! I recommend Let The Good Times Roll from Lush – it’s completely natural so it’s super gentle on the skin, plus it smells absolutely divine.
Who doesn’t love a good face mask?! With an endless variety to choose from to suit literally any skin type, a face mask a couple of times a week makes an excellent, easy addition to any skincare routine.

Cleanse, tone, and moisturise – these are the golden rules in any skincare routine, right? But what actually is toner? Think of it as bridging the gap between your cleansing products and your moisturising products – it falls exactly halfway through this routine, after all. It should gently exfoliate, leaving you with a fresh face or blank canvas for your next round of products. I love Pixi Glow Tonic – it’s a classic!
Serums make an excellent addition to any skincare routine – kind of like a moisturiser, but more intense, so you’re getting a potent shot of goodness to your skin. This is a super adaptable step, as there are so many out there to suit you. A good place to start is with Glossier’s Super Serums – they stock one to glow, one to purify, and one for intense hydration. The choice is yours!
If you don’t suffer from acne then skip this step. And please share your secret. If you do, however, then a spot treatment before bed is a must. Just dab over any spots, and leave it to work its magic overnight – an incredibly easy step in any skincare routine! I love Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Clearing Gel.
Eye cream may sound a little extra for an easy skincare routine, but trust me, the skin around your eyes is so delicate that you’re going to want to take special care of it. Plus it’s nice to feel a little bougie before bed, no? I’m a huge fan of Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado – so luxe!
I don’t know about you, but this is my favourite step of my skincare routine, and it’s unmissable for a true glow. Lock in all the goodness with your favourite moisturiser – choose a lighter one for oily skin, heavier for dry. A thick night cream a few times a week is also a great addition for extra hydration!

Do not miss this step in your morning skincare routine! There is no point spending time pampering your face if you’re not going to protect it from the sun. An SPF – at least factor 30 – is crucial, so you can go out and enjoy that new glow without a care in the world! When it comes to easy skincare routines, this is your top priority!
