The approaching spring season means that a collection of new anime is just around the corner. With over 40 anime airing this spring it can be difficult to decide where to start. Rather than working on the list through trial and error we’ve narrowed it down to 10 anime that you definitely need to be watching this season. Some are continuations, others are sequels and there are also some original stories in the mix, but one thing is for sure – you can’t miss out on them!
It’s been four years since the last season and understandably everyone is glad that the wait is over. The goofy yet overpowered protagonist, who wormed his way into the hearts of many is finally back on screens and ready to kick ass. One Punch Man is a must watch for anyone looking for something unique.
After such an exciting first part to season three, we’re finally going to see the second half of this adaptation. If you’ve been along for the ride then this season is definitely not one to miss on as we look forward to epic fights and the grand reveal to unanswered questions. And if you haven’t seen Attack on Titan, what are you waiting for?
The first adaptation aired in 2001 and nearly two decades later we get a revamped and hopefully better version. This shoujo anime is a classic and with the manga concluding in 2006, we may see a series that faithfully follows the original story’s plotline.
The aptly named series is on its fifth season and we can confidently say that it’s as Bizarre adventure. The anime started airing October last year but with 39 episodes making up this season, we’re treated to another 3 months of adventure and excitement. If you haven’t hopped onto the JJBA train yet it’s the perfect time to do so. With five parts spanning a memorable journey, you won’t be able to stop watching until you’re caught up and left waiting for the next episode with everyone else.
Dororo started airing last season in January and it’s been a wild ride. Dororo is a series that was published over 50 years ago. With so many adaptations and spin-offs of the classic, it came as a surprise that the new anime was even better than it’s predecessors. It’s certainly darker, more serious and graphics than the original’s Astro Boy-esque style
Kimetsu no Yaiba is a relatively new addition to Shounen Jump, joining the weekly magazine’s family in 2016. The historical and supernatural genres are perfect for shows that encapsulate adventure and action, and this one is no different. Animated by studio Ufotable, we’re guaranteed to have a smooth, high-quality anime that doesn’t shy away from showing off its visuals.
An original story from Bones studio, Carole & Tuesday is a sci-fi anime that follows humanity’s colonisation of Mars and the interaction of two individuals in that society. As an anime that looks like it’ll be centred around character development and meaningful interactions, Carole and Tuesday is perfect if you’re looking for a show with substance.
The Isekai genre (A genre that follows a protagonist who is transported to another world) has grown increasingly popular in the past decade and it’s showing no signs of stopping. This fantasy show riddled with comedy follows our protagonist as he is reborn into another world as Merlin’s adopted grandson.
If you’re craving something darker this season, look no further. Fairy Gone is the dark fantasy that we all need and with its magic, demons, and dark atmosphere. With studio P.A. Works being behind the adaptation we can expect good animation, all that’s is a solid story.
