What anime did you watch when you were a kid? Some anime series are just too iconic to forget and you might wish that your children will watch something as good while growing up. Here are 9 anime every kid needs to watch growing up.
I personally didn’t watch Naruto when I was young, but I can’t deny that this anime has been a part of a lot of people’s childhood.
Naruto Uzumaki had a nine-tailed fox sealed in him when he was a baby, which made him feared and rejected by his entire village. Nonetheless, he still dreams of being a great ninja to be recognized and respected by all.
During a trip to China, Ranma Saotome and his dad Genma fell into a cursed spring, which gave Genma the ability to change into a giant panda and Ranma the ability to transform into a girl. Unfortunately, he is set to marry Akane Tendô, who hates men.
It’s a silly and comedic anime that is not meant to be taken seriously.
Not many people know that this cartoon is actually from Japan. This anime is an adaptation of the famous book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer written by Mark Twain.
The story takes place in the 19th century and tells us the adventures of two young boys, Tom Sawyer, and Huckleberry Finn, who live near the Mississippi in Missouri.
Everyone knows about Sailor Moon. You know, this group of girls named after the Solar System. They also have magical powers they use to save Earth from evil. Honestly, I can’t say much about this anime because I never finished the series but the transformation sequence scenes will forever remain in history.
Shinichi Kudô is a 17-year-old high school detective that often helps the police solve cases. During a trip to an attraction park with his childhood friend Ran Mouri, he came across two members of a crime syndicate, known as the Black Organization. They forced him to ingest an experimental drug that was supposed to kill him, but instead, it turns him into a child. Under the pseudonym Conan Edogawa, he lives with Ran and his dad, Kogoro Mouri, a private detective in hope to find this mysterious Black Organization.
Case Closed is one of the longest animated series with currently more than 950 episodes. And the show is still going on. Over the episodes, you will notice that the animation changed. You can also find a new reanimated version of the old episodes.
Dragon Ball takes place in an alternative universe, The World, that is similar to Earth. The anime narrates the story of Goku, from childhood to adulthood. He’s looking to gather the seven Dragon Balls which, if reunited, can grant a wish.
Dragon Ball had a considerable impact on pop culture as it has been referenced by numerous artists, athletes, filmmakers and other celebrities across the world. I mean, even Americans try to make a live-action movie of it.
This one is sad and honestly depressing. The story takes place in London, in the 19th century. Sarah Crewe, who lived her entire life in India moved to England to study in an all-girl boarding school in London. However, she loses everything when her father passed away and her family goes bankrupt and cannot pay for the school fees, the headmistress made her a maid and tried to make her life as miserable as possible.
I guarantee you, you will be touched by Sarah’s story. You will be impressed by her positivity and her resourcefulness.
This one was my childhood. Did you ever dream of being a witch?
One day, Doremi Harukaze, an elementary student comes across a weird shop that sells cursed objects and accidentally discovers that it’s owner Majo Rika is a witch. When the identity of a witch is revealed, this one is transformed into a frog. Wanting to regain her original appearance, Majo Rika has no choice but to make Doremi her witch apprentice.
I couldn’t skip this one. Pokemon is a pop culture phenomenon. There is no way you never heard of Pokemon! Pokemon cards were insanely popular when I was young. Pokemon is the most iconic anime ever and it’s still going on.
