10 Amazing UK Beaches to Visit This Summer
Summer is already here and we need to start thinking about our holiday escapades. As much as many of us dream of sunbathing on the coast of Mayorca or swimming in the beautiful Tenerife beaches, sometimes time and money aren’t enough to make these fantasies come true. Don’t let this ruin our summer! Although UK is no the first summery destination that springs to mind, there are plenty of UK beaches that will allow you to make the best of these glorious, and scarce, hot days.
1) Lunan Bay
Backed by sand dunes and framed by low cliffs, this stunning Scotland beach located about three miles south of Montrose, perfect for Scots and northerners. Lunan Bay is a beloved destination for surfers, horse riders and fishers.
2) Formby
Spectacular sunsets and monumental dunes! Located in Liverpool, Formby has plenty of picnic areas for you to enjoy a nice meal. Waymarked paths lead to beach, dunes and nearby woods.
3) Saltburn
This Yorkshire seaside resort is a rich heritage dating back to the Victorian heyday and beyond. Saltburn is home to one of the best surf and has charming cafés and restaurants for you to visit.
4) Barafundle Bay
If you’re looking for something quiet but equally fun, this charming little bay is for you. Backed by dunes and pine trees, Barafundle Bay is accessible only by a half mile walk from the nearest car park. Swathes of golden sand and crystal clear waters are among the highlights.
5) Saunton Sands
On the North Devon coast near Braunton, you will find popular surfing location. Saunton Sands measures over 3 miles of stunning golden sand and found between the villages of Braunton and Croyde.
6) Mablethorpe Beach
Another calm, quiet place. Mablethorpe is a small town on the Lincolnshire coast. Its beach offers incredibly soft golden sands, plus chalets available to hire and plenty of nearby restaurants and ice cream parlors.
7) West Wittering
The natural and unspoilt sandy beach of West Wittering is a favourite family destination. Its water quality is among the highest and it has plenty of excellent facilities that made it one of the premier Blue Flag beaches in the country.

One of our favourite UK beaches is located in Bournemouth. Travel to the South and enjoy tasty food, hire a beach hut or simply admire miles of the breath-taking coastline of Bournemouth beach. If you’re looking for some sunlight, don’t hesitate as the bay enjoys its own micro-climate, some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK.
9) Inch Beach
Located in the Dingle Peninsula, this Irish beach spans for 5 kilometres and offers plenty of space making it ideal for all types of water sports including Surfing, Kayaking and fishing. You can also explore traditional Irish culture through the many walking routes and nearby locations.
10) Blackpool Sands
Set in an unspoilt, sheltered bay is Blackpool Sands, a shingle beach located only 3 miles west of Dartmouth, South Devon. With kayaks and paddle boards for hire, a bathing raft and a range of delicious food and a beach shop, Blackpool Sands has something for every visitor.
