10 Amazing Snacks To Try ASAP
I absolutely love snacks! They are super important to keep your energy and blood sugar levels up and can be absolutely delicious if you want them to be. Here are 10 amazing snacks you should try ASAP!
1. Banana and Peanut Butter Bites
This is one of my go to snacks as I love both the taste and texture I get when I bite into them. If you’re in the mood for something sweet but also a little salty (if you have salted peanut butter, which works a charm with this), then you’re in luck.
Just cut up a banana into small circles and smear each piece with some peanut butter. If you want more, then pop them into the freezer and dip them in chocolate once cooled.
2. Apple With Almond Or Peanut Butter
Just like the peanut butter bites, apples and a nut spread go absolutely amazingly well together and are super delicious. You can cut the apple up into bite-size pieces, cubes or into circles and put more than just a spread on it. Sometimes I like to put chocolate pieces and sultanas or maybe even some grapes to switch it up. Your taste buds will love the amazing tastes and textures!
3. Hummus With Carrots Or Celery
If you’re looking for a delicious way to up your intake of vegetables and protein, then this snack will be your go-to! The hummus is packed with heaps of nutrients and protein so you’ll be increasing your muscles and enjoying its delicious taste. Pair the hummus with carrots or celery and bam, you’re in business! This is an amazing snack packed with delicious and nutritious foods you’ll love!
4. Capsicum with Cheddar Cheese
I never used to like capsicum, but now I can’t seem to get enough of it. Pair it with some divine cheddar cheese or substitute the cheddar with anything you like! I also favour red capsicum over green and yellow as I find it has so much more flavour. It’s definitely a lot sweeter then the others!
5. Greek Yoghurt
Greek yoghurt is another amazing snack that is packed with protein and is nice and filling. If you want to up the flavour, add some honey and blueberries for extra taste and more nutrients. You can buy this in small tubs or in larger tubs to have throughout the week. Keep it in your fridge, you’ll be glad you did!
6. Date Bars/Balls
I love a good every bar/ball and these are absolutely amazing! Not only do they keep your energy levels up throughout the day but they are also delicious. The crunchiness of the nuts paired with the sweet soft dates is such a good mix and will explode in your mouth with flavour. They are amazing snacks for when you are on the go or if you just want to sit down and have a cup of tea!
7. Fruit!
I love fruit! Never underestimate the power of what you can do with fruit (as seen above). If you’re in need of long lasting energy, then opt for a banana. They are very filling and give you energy for a prolonged period of time. If you want small but sweet, go for some berries. Whatever is in season, eat it!
8. Boiled Eggs
Eggs are super filling but also packed with vitamins and nutrients. They keep you going throughout the day and you can even take boiled eggs on the go. Add some chilli, avocado or even put them on a slice of wholemeal toast. Don’t listen to rumours about eggs being bad for cholesterol! It’s not true so don’t let that deter you from these wholesome beauties.
9. Blueberries Covered In Greek Yoghurt
If you’re looking for a cooler snack for those hotter days, then this snack is a must! Simply stick some blueberries into the freezer after dipping them into some greek yoghurt! You can even add some honey to the yoghurt for a sweeter taste that is extra delicious!
10. Nuts
I left my favourite for last. You can never go wrong with mixed nuts. My favourite kind is raw cashews paired with some almonds, and peanuts. I also like to add some dried cranberries if I’m looking for something sweet to pair it with! There are so many kinds of nuts that you can use such as pistachios, walnuts, brazil nuts, and so much more!
