Whenever I go to a coffee shop, I generally go for a good catch up with friends where I can spend hours in one sitting. That’s why for me when it comes to visiting any coffee shop it needs to emanate a sense of character or ambience that are distinctively different from any old regular coffee shop. If you ever come down to London or happen to be living in the Capital, I would recommend visiting some of these London coffee shops when you go out for a catch up with your friends!
Located on Green Street, East London, Chaiiwala is an Indian-infused coffee shop that has a variety of beverages such as the traditional chai with spices, chai latte and many more. The décor and serving style tastefully embody the street food life found in India.
Regarding the price point of their menu, it is considerately priced and you are served with a wholesome plate of home-style food. This coffee shop is worth checking out if you’re feeling adventurous and want to branch out and try something a little different.
This beautiful coffee shop is one of my absolute favourites. Since visiting France last year, I had yet to find a café that shared a similarity of the baked goods as France. Le Pain Quotidien welcomes you with warmth from the mahogany finish and candlelit tables that are reminiscent of the French countryside. Looking at their price point, it would be similar to one of Starbucks’ lattes. With Le Pain, you are guaranteed with a rich and satisfying cup of coffee and a well-baked almond croissant.
There’s no such thing as too much Kaffeine. This little coffee store is located minutes away from Oxford Circus, perfect when you have done a long day of shopping. If you work nearby the coffee store and don’t have enough time to grab a quick bite or a little drink, Kaffeine delivers straight to you.
The place itself is very modern, relaxed and welcoming and their food service is immaculate. They have a wide selection of baked goods from croissants to cakes and smooth tasting coffee that wakes you up after a long day.
Perfect for the gram, Peggy Porschen is known for its aesthetic floral décor. It definitely embodies the Made in Chelsea lifestyle with its bourgeois and contemporary sophisticated appeal. From all the talk on social media, it is a place worth visiting for formalities or small special occasions.
One of the most unique and relaxed London coffee shops that have a very 90s vibe. It’s a very family-friendly environment that offers a variety of different board games to pass the time. As suggested in the name, not only does this place offer handcrafted coffee, but wonderfully refreshing teas and cool drinks. If you’re looking for something to bite, I would recommend trying their grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s completely flavoursome and not as pricey as Starbucks for their little-to-nothing filling.
Elan Café is widely known for its floral aesthetics and its healthy eating cuisine. Although on the pricier side of life, it truly is a treat as you are greeted with fresh flavours and exotic breakfast flavours. The café caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian alike and serves halal food for Muslim customers.
Renowned for its beautifully rich melted chocolate and chocolate moulds, Said Dal is a fantastic little spot for a pick-me-up. Said Dal is the oldest Italian Coffee shop in Rome which can now be found in Soho and Fitzrovia. This Italian café personifies all things Roman which can be seen through its decorative silver chocolate moulds hanging from the walls.
The home of the cronut. Dominique Ansel’s Bakery is a fantastic gem just found in the busy office area of Victoria, London. Ansel’s Bakery has the finest pastries accompanied by a rich macchiato for a little refreshment. The bakery is extremely spacious and the menu caters from breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. If you’re a huge fan of fine pastries, I guarantee you this is the place to be.
