London is one of the best cities in the world! It’s well known for its fashion, historic landmarks and the British monarchy. Because of this, people tend to overlook all the amazing food places you can go to in London. With this being said, most parts of London are incredibly trendy and with this comes an array of hipster cafes and vegan joints that should put London on the map with regards to food as well! So here is a list of 5 AMAZING food places in London…
The Breakfast Club is one of my favourite places in London. They serve breakfast, everyone’s beloved ‘brunch’, lunch, dinner and drinks! They have several cafes around London from London Bridge to Canary Wharf. The caf is most known for its amazing brunch ranging from a huge stack of delicious pancakes (both vegan and non- vegan ones) to a bog standard yet incredibly scrummy full English!
I personally love the whole look of their cafs as they give off a major hipster vibe, making it the perfect place to take a cool insta pic! 😉 If that wasn’t enough to persuade you into checking this place out, then know that they are also really keen on doing their bit to help the environment, working closely with the Sustainable Restaurant Association and were recently awarded three stars- the highest star rating available for a restaurant business! There is nothing more left to be said… you have to go at eat here!
Now THIS place is quite special! The cereal café is situated in the trendy area of Shoreditch and eponymously serves branded breakfast cereal. By 2017 the café has expanded out into other areas; Camden, Birmingham and Kuwait. The Cereal Killer was the first cereal- themed café in the UK, making it a place you definitely need to check out! The initial idea of creating this hipster/ retro inspired café came into action after two identical twins came up with the idea of selling cereal after experiencing a morning hangover whilst in Shoreditch.
Because of this they were in desperate need of something sweet- ultimately craving a sugary cereal fix and from there the rest was history! With over 100 types of cereal on display, 12 kinds of milk, 20 toppings to choose from, coffee, toast and pop tarts (yumm) to enjoy, this amazing café is the place to go if you too are having a hangover, craving something nice and sweet or quite simply are just a MAJOR cereal lover! 😉
Another great restaurant to visit in London is also in Shoreditch and it’s the much loved Mooshies- a vegan burger joint! This place is quite rapidly becoming ‘the place to be’ in Brick Lane. The array of innovative plant based burgers and sides you can get from this place is truly extraordinary, making it a place that will convert even the most religious meat eater out there with a single bite! From their ironically named ‘what’s ur beef?’ burger to their chick p bites, it goes without saying that this place is where you should visit if you want a clean yet FULLY flavoursome burger!
If you are a Londoner then you would have definitely heard of the infamous Hummingbird bakery! This amazing place is best known for its array of mouth-watering and highly aesthetic looking cupcakes that will look good on any sort of ‘themed’ Instagram page! From absolute classics like their much loved red velvet cupcake to their eye popping party knock outs like their double rainbow cake- the Hummingbird Bakery is on everyone’s lists when a celebration of any sort comes to mind! They say that ‘life is sweet’ so if you are ever in need of a sweet fix then be sure to head on over to one of the many bakeries they have set up around London for an absolute treat and a half!
Tea anyone? We all know that we Brits love our tea so it should come as no surprise that one of the best food places in London is a cute/ highly charming tea room that will be sure to make you feel like the Queen herself! This tea room is located within Islington and has a really chilled out vibe to it! It’s simple, rustic look gives a cosy and warm feel to all its visitors- and is consequently perfect for when it’s really cold and miserable outside!
The selection of cakes and teas are honestly to die for and there are plenty to choose from. If you want my advice, try visiting around Christmas time when they will have a selection of festive treats ranging from the trusted mince pie to a celebratory pear and cinnamon cake! The amount of loose tea available is sure to make you want to try out more than one- like their luxuriously scented orange peel and pomegranate tea which is oh so exotic and a far cry away from a standard PG Tip might I say! There are also a lot of coffees to choose from for all you coffee lovers out there, making this tea room the place to be for when you are in desperate need of a bit of luxury!
