10 Alcoholic Dessert Recipes That Will Have You Buzzing… Literally

I don’t know about you, but I am a borderline alcoholic with such an ongoing relationship with chocolate goods; I’ve earned the nickname ‘Choccy Boy’ from friends, family and youts on the bus. Sure, your circumstances may be different. But to like booze and chocolate is as natural as it is to breathe, feel and love… who doesn’t fancy a Twix and a can of lager on a Summers’ Evening? So if you’re like me, you’ll share the same excitement I did when I found these alcoholic dessert recipes!

Like when Adam ate from The Tree of Knowledge, your tiny minds are about to be consumed with previously inconceivable combinations of sponge, chocolate, ice cream, icing and sweet relief…booze. Also like Adam, your going to want to fashion yourself some loose-fitting-leafy-sweatpants after trying this ‘fruit’…

NEWSFLASH… most alcoholic deserts aren’t great for you.

Leave your belts at the door… let’s MUNCH!

1. An Honest 30-min Boozy Brownie Trifle

I know what your thinking. This looks like hard work. I thought the same. Well stop dribbling onto your keyboard, and listen up. This could all be yours after just 30 minutes preparation, which involves a simple bit of melting, crushing, stirring, spooning and sifting.

And this isn’t a Jamie Oliver 30-minute promise – where you could research your preferred travel options, buy your tickets, head to the station, grab yourself a pack of chicken nuggets (and a Twix and a can of lager), mooch out to Clavering, Essex, walk up to his family farm house and lob the nuggets through his open windows until you get an apology for his smug multi-million pound enterprise built on gross under-estimation – this is BBC Good Food. They don’t lie, Jamie.

2. Pimm’s Strawberry Ice Cream and Booze Floater

This innovative Pimm-cream hybrid is a whole new way to make Tennis bearable. Crafted with the wonderful simplicity of Tim Henman’s haircut, this desert cocktail requires delightfully little thought in preparation. Just Pimms, strawberry ice cream, lemon/lime soda and strawberries will do… if you are away from the hob and can go without syrup. This alcoholic desert is almost certainly sweet enough.

3. (Errbody in the club getting…) Tipsy Fruit Salad

It’s Summer Time. Summer, Summer, Summer, Time. Summer Time. You’re hosting a bit of a bash with your homedogs out back. The sun is beaming, conversations flowing like fine wine and moods are high and hazy. Your squad is craving more booze and fresh fruit. You stand up to make an announcement.

“ Yo guys, the recipe said this desert was for grown ups but I say it’s for turnin up!”

Silence. So silent it hurts. Conversation picks up again as you scamper inside to the kitchen.

After just 10 minutes of chopping tropical fruits and a quick blitz of triple sec, rum and sugar on the hob – you’re back in the garden with your home slices.

Two servings later, you got yourself an out of control house party and Asher Roth ‘I Love College’ is booming out as the police take down your details for public indecency and aggravated battery of a police officer.

Try double down on booze for younger guests and the softer palate. This is definitely one of the most popular alcoholic dessert recipes in the summer!

4. Creamy Kahlua Chocolate Fudge

Sweet Mary Mother of Jesus, Archer of Gorgonites! These fudge blocks are tinted with cinnamon, salted vanilla extract, sweet coffee liquor and delicious melt-in-your-face choco supreme delight.

With a 40 minute preparation time, these decadent nuggets are a bit of a showstopper and an alcoholic desert to savor.

5. Gin and Tonic Sorbet

This simple-dimble delight is perfect as a palate cleanser between meals (if that’s your thing?), summer party surprise or to try and impress your date at the last. Trust me, there’s no better way to make up for a terrible night of inappropriate, lude and/or boring conversation than a couple mouthfuls of booze filled balls of ice creams softer cousin.

Zesty, fresh, sweet and palatable – it’s all you need this Summer Time.

6. Choccy Log with Boozy Blackberriers

Many of the recipes so far have been so heavily laden with liquor, that not only may they not be appropriate for certain circumstances, they may make you inappropriate. Ever found yourself with your head in a toilet bowl after a date, apologizing for having too many G&T sorbets? No obviously not. That would be pathetic.

But this one involves a very simple diversion from the classic Christmas staple, chocolate Yule Log. Following this wonderful recipe for the Christmas log of choice will impress all members of the family – including that uncle who doesn’t drink but no one asks why – by separating the sloe gin berries as an added extra. Perfecto. This is one of the most glorious alcoholic dessert recipes, especially for chocolate lovers!

7. Nutella Booze Balls

Suck on these nutty chocolate balls! These balls offer creative freedom in preparation to decorate/ taste as you choose. Take your pick of amaretto, rum, frangelico, brandy or bourbon to give these balls that extra kick. Why not decorate these mouth-watering balls with finely crushed cookies, shredded/toasted coconut or some finely chopped nuts?

8. Guinness Brownies with Whiskey Caramel Glaze

In truth, on their own, these brownies do not taste super boozy. With a super fudgy, truffle like quality to the brownies, the stout laces the flavor, adding some creamy texture and Irish charm. The Whiskey Caramel Glaze gives it that smoky sweet kick. And why not try sprinkling some crushed salted pretzel on top?

You’ll be flying it the rest of the night.

9. Bailey’s Drenched Tiramisu

Have you even had a night out if you don’t end up passed out on your sofa with a half drunk glass of Bailey’s, a head full of regret and pain from your incessant over indulgence? Take that idea, stick it in a Tiramisu and you have the aftermath of this wonderful beast.

10. Boozy Confetti Orea Milkshake

There is absolutely nothing classy about melted purple chocolate, whipped cream, sprinkles, Oreo’s and vodka. But ask yourself, is there anything classy about scrolling down to number 10 on a boozy desert listicle? This may just be the bittersweet answer you were looking for! I mean who doesn’t love Oreos? This is one of the alcoholic dessert recipes that will be a hit with everyone!
