Everyone needs a break every now and then. Whether you’re a student stressed with exams and dissertations or working hard up in the city, it’s important to treat yourself. Luckily, being in one of the best cities in the world, there is so much that you can do to pamper yourself! Of course, there is the obvious; going out for dinner or getting your nails done, but sometimes you just want to do something a little more, something a bit extravagant! So, here are 10 ways to pamper yourself in London!
Whether it’s a luxury facial or full body massage you’re after, this one is for you! What a better way to pamper yourself than relaxing in one of London’s top spa’s! Apparently, the Bulgari Hotel is incredible, but I’m sure so are the prices. If you work on your feet all day, why not try some Foot Reflexology? Or, get a full body exfoliation and oil massage, to get that skin as smooth as a baby’s bottom!
Do cute mini-sandwiches, delicious cakes, and a fancy hotel sound like your thing? Well if it is, look no further! Not only is this a very British thing to do, it is also a great afternoon out with fellow foodies and will make you feel very posh. You can also get dressed up, which is fun if you don’t get to do it too often! The Ritz is also right next to the famous Harrods, so you can always make a day of it and get a bit of retail therapy in before you go. Prices go from £65pp and booking is a must!
Admittedly I have never actually done this, but it does sound pretty cool! Want to pamper yourself while getting an awesome snap for the ‘gram? Then I think this will be your winner. Fly over London’s capital and experience the view of over 18 landmarks in your own helicopter! I’m sure it will be an experience you never forget! Book now from £150pp.
Join in Europe’s highest yoga class and feel your zen from 1,016 feet up! With panoramic views of London’s capital, what a better way to extravagantly pamper yourself than by working on your mind and body? Not only will you get a good workout in, you will also be able to scope out views of the city like no other! Another awesome thing, if it’s a hot day, the class will be taken on the 72nd floor on an open-air deck (so try and go then). The group classes start at 8.15am and are £45pp, or if you are mega-extravagant, why not have a private lesson for two for (eek) £1,350!
Get giggly on different premium bubbles at the Polo Bar in Mayfair. Sip away at your Laurent Perrier, Dom Perignon and Brut Rose whilst nibbling on 6 different canapés. Perfect for a girly day of gossip and alcohol! Prices go from £125pp.
Meet master patissier Eric Lanlard and learn to beautifully decorate cupcakes! Alongside the masterclass, you will also get a complimentary hot chocolate and can take your box of 12 cupcakes home to enjoy after! If you love baking and the delicious taste of cupcakes, then this experience looks so fun! Not only will you get to learn a new skill, but you can also treat yourself to some cupcake goodness!
Performances are always fun, whether you are with friends, family or even a partner – there will always be something to see. Whether it’s opera, the theatre, or a music concert that floats your boat, treat yourself to great seats or even a VIP experience.
Arguably the best brunch in London, The Landmark holds a Sunday Champagne Brunch every Saturday from 12-3pm. Perhaps the best thing about this brunch is that it the food is UNLIMITED! Yes. I said it. Not only is the food unlimited but so is the champagne! A very hard find in London! Set up in the gazebo, there is also live music to entertain you throughout your visit! Prices from £90pp.
Movies are great, especially at a cinema. But this is no ordinary cinema, this is a boutique cinema chain that specialises in quality! At Everyman you get the home-style experience with comfy sofa–type seats, food and alcohol! A true way to relax! Another great aspect of the many Everyman cinema’s across London is that they all have unique bars, so why not arrive early and grab a drink first or after, to discuss the movie? (Great date idea. They also have special student pricing! Prices from £15.60pp.
By far my favourite pick on the list- this extravagant London experience looks incredible! Hop aboard the famous sister train of the Orient-Express and enjoy champagne upon arrival, a five-course fine dining experience, wine, coffee and most importantly a MURDER MYSTERY EXPERIENCE. Take in the view whilst aboard the 1920s inspired train, indulge in delicious food, and get your brain ticking by trying to solve the mystery. With a round trip from London Victoria, this experience lasts about 5 hours, but there is so much to do and see that it will fly by! Spaces are limited so make sure to book, tickets from £340pp.
