10 Trips You Must Take If You Have A Long Winter Break
Winter break can be long and boring if you don’t plan it right! Traveling during this time is great for relaxing and seeing more than just your house or your room for most of the break! Since this break is so long, it is important to plan accordingly and plan one or two trips depending on where you are going. Here are some Trips you can take for you long winter break!
1. Maine
You may be thinking that Maine is just a state will a lot of trees and not a lot of city, which you would be right, but Maine has great beaches that would be cool to see during the winter! It’s a different experience than going in the summer which not a lot of people appreciate! If you want to explore a vast space Maine is definitely the state to go to!
2. Massachusetts
This small state offers so much to do. From the city life to the country Massachusetts has some great spots! Boston, which is the biggest tourist destination, offers little places like Quincy Market, where you can eat amazing food, shop, and see unique outside performers. A couple blocks away you can go watch the Bruins game at TD Garden, and tour the path of Paul Revere and his midnight ride.
You’ll be able to watch all the animals you’ve been dying to see at the New England Aquarium. If you venture out to Foxborough, you can visit the Gillette Stadium, where you can tailgate or get tickets to see the Patriots play. There are so many great things to do here that there’s no way you can go wrong.
3. Vermont
A wonderful getaway in the mountains. Vermont is the home to skiing and breweries. If you visit Stowe you can tour the Cabot Factory, Alchemist Brewery, or do some great skiing. If you are looking for a fun winter break, this is definitely the place to go! Don’t forget to see the Ben and Jerry’s factory while you’re there too! Plus, wherever you go there is apple cider and donuts! This is the place to have a great time!
4. South Carolina
This historic and warm destination is a favorite for spring breakers. Myrtle Beach is a hub for vacationers with a 60-mile string of beaches. You can go to amusement parks, go swimming, tanning, while relaxing with no stress. You can stay in 3-star hotels averaging at only $87 a night! Although it may be a little cold, South Carolina is great for people who want to go away for winter break, but want to see places they’ve never been to before! There is so much to see and so little time to experience everything!
5. North Carolina
There is the largest Natural Science Museum located in Raleigh that you have to go see! This museum has 4 different areas that you can explore to learn more about North Carolina’s habitats and ecosystems. This is a great state to explore with friends and learn new things about places you have never been to before!
6. Florida
This place speaks for itself! While is stays a great temperature during the winter which makes this a prime spot for winter breakers, the best part is the ability to go to Disney World and have the ability to act like a kid again! There is so much to do at Disney World that you can’t explore each park in one day.
This is a trip that should be about a week depending on where you want to go since there is so much! There are four theme parks in Disney world: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom. There are also two water parks located within Disney World which are great too! If you have had enough of the parks, there is a great shopping plaza with every store you would imagine and not mention, food!
7. Illinois
The sites here in general are amazing! Everywhere you go, you’ll be in awe because of how beautiful it looks! Illinois may not be high on your list of places you want to go, but think about it. Deep dish pizza. A famous river. The best shopping experience. A great lake. What more could you need? Everything that is listed, you probably never heard about until now! So what are you waiting for? Make this one of the first place you check out during winter break!
8. Colorado
If you are looking for a place that has a amazing outdoor attractions, Colorado is the place to be! From skiing in the mountains to looking at the great mountains before you. There are so many jaw dropping moments you’ll have while you’ll there! There’s a huge chance you’ll run into some sort of animal you’ve never seen in person. You’ll have a ton of fun exploring nature the way it was intended and see things you have never seen before!
9. California
Known for it’s sunny weather and great beaches, this state is full of wonderful activity like Disney Land, Hollywood, and nature attractions. This is a great place to go if you are looking for a night on the town or a hiking in he woods! If you are on the hunt for celebrities, is it common to see them walking around like nothing is happening. It is a great experience if you want to immerse yourself into a totally different culture than you are used to and can teach you a lot about the state too!
10. Hawaii
Hawaii is great for everyone who loves to learn a little bit about history and see it up close and personal! Hawaii has some great views and beaches that visitors love. This winter break destination is great for people looking to travel farther! With multiple islands to explore, who wouldn’t want to take a trip to this great state!
