Travel Bag Essentials You Don’t Want To Board The Plane Without
When you’re traveling, you don’t want your travel bag to be full of unnecessary items that take up all the space inside. You want to make sure you only have the essentials in your travel bag. That way, it allows you to pack light, so that you’re comfortable and can fully enjoy yourself without having to worry about whether you overpacked or not. With all the things that you can pack in your travel bag, I’ve narrowed down a list of the essentials that I believe you do not want to board the plane without.
Socks
If you’re like me and wear sandals while traveling because it’s easier to take them off and put them back on at security, you gotta have some socks in your travel bag. Airplane flights can be freezing, especially if you’re in the air for hours. Even if you’re already wearing socks on the plane, pack an extra pair so that you can double up when your feet start to turn ice cold. It’ll make your time in the air so much more comfortable because your feet are nice and cozy!
Shop the essential:
Headphones
A really important item to pack in your travel bag are headphones. Whether they’re AirPods, noise canceling headphones, or just cheap earphones that you got at the dollar store, you need them. Here’s why:
1. Because the aircraft noise inside the cabin can be a little too much.
2. Because being able to zone out in your music or a movie makes the flight way quicker
3. Because the screaming baby on aisle 15 won’t shut the hell up
Shop the essential:
Phone charger/portable charger
Especially now that large airplanes conveniently have an in-seat power outlet, you cannot forget your phone charger! If you’re the type of person to listen to music or play games on your phone the entire flight, or if you have a long layover in between flights, you’re gonna want to make sure that you have your charger with you. A portable charger is also essential just in case there aren’t any outlets available.
Shop the essential:
Toiletry bag
I’m talking toothbrush, toothpaste, perfume, deodorant, face wipes, moisturizer, all of the obvious necessities that you use in the bathroom. Even some first aid stuff. Keep those items in a toiletry bag inside of your travel bag, so that you can refresh yourself in between flights, after a flight, or even during the flight. It’s important to keep these items in your travel bag or carry-on because you never know what may happen, and it’s good to be prepared for worst case scenarios, like if your flight gets cancelled and you have to stay at an airport for 9 hours (been there, done that).
Shop the essential:
Makeup bag/clutch
If you’re the kind of girl that can’t go a day without putting on makeup, or maybe you’re traveling all day and want to put makeup on at the airport before you get to your destination, there’s a way to pack your makeup in your travel bag that allows you to still pack light. You don’t have to bring your entire makeup collection when you travel. Remember to only bring the necessities. Whatever fits inside a makeup clutch is enough. Mini makeup, or sample makeup, are perfect items to place inside your makeup bag while you’re traveling because they’re small enough that they don’t take up so much room. Target and Ulta have some really cute, travel friendly makeup bags that you can place inside of your travel bag.
Shop the essential:
Something to keep you entertained
Remember to pack something to keep yourself from getting bored during your flight. Unless you want to pay for inflight wifi, you’re not gonna be able to browse through Twitter or Instagram, and you might become restless on the plane. Keep yourself occupied by packing a book/magazine, a crossword puzzle, or even a mini board game if you’re traveling with someone else.
