Top Ten Reasons Everyone Should Try Using CBD

Want to try using CBD but are still unsure? Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the hundreds of active ingredients in the marijuana plant. Without the psychological effects and ‘high’ that THC is associated with, CBD offers a safe and efficient alternative to transitional pharmaceutical medication.

1. Various Consumption Methods

If you’re looking to try using CBD but aren’t sure where to start, don’t worry! There are plenty of options available so there’s bound to be something for everyone. Tinctures or CBD oil is the most common consumption method mentioned throughout this article. You simply place a small amount of the liquid under your tongue using a dropper and let it soak in. This is very effective if you are looking to get the strongest medical properties. Using the tincture at the same time daily will allow the CBD to build up in your body and start actively benefiting your lifestyle.

Another great option if you are looking for a smoother experience is consuming edibles. Premade CBD edibles, such as honey sticks, gummy bears, and flavored water, are extremely common, but there is a large selection of products even for those who like to prepare their own food. CBD butter is a common option that can be easily added to many dishes, though you should definitely look into all the food-related products before settling on one!

While there can be some negative lung effects, smoking CBD flower out of a joint, pipe, or bong can offer a quicker reaction. Similar to tinctures, CBD concentrates can allow for the most intense results, though these often require a specific dab set up. Vaping also allows the CBD to hit you faster. Pre-filled cartridges and e-liquid are both available so you can vape out of your preferred device. This is an easy and extremely discrete option for anyone on the go looking quick results.

2. Offers Pain Relief

CBD can help reduce pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptors in your brain. These neurotransmitters influence many functions throughout your body, such as pain, sleep, appetite, and even your immune system. Ingesting CBD, whether through smoking, tinctures, edibles or any other form can offer pain relief, but there are also products designed specifically to target pain relief. Creams similar to Biofreeze or Icy-Hot containing CBD as an active ingredient can be found in varying strengths at your local CBD shop and even some grocery stores and retail shops! Try using CBD to fight off chronic pain and reduce soreness.

CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties are not only useful for treating pain, it can also be helpful in reducing acne. CBD can help stop and prevent sebaceous gland cells from producing and excreting excess pro-acne agents. Those who follow a regular skincare routine should strongly consider adding a CBD based product to their regimen.

3. Great Alternative To Pharmaceutical Drugs

For those who tend to shy away from pharmaceutical medication, a great alternative in some cases may be to try using CBD. Since there is no prescription necessary, feel free to begin using CBD whenever you’d like to see the benefits for yourself. There are many legitimate health benefits associated with the use of CBD in treating medical conditions and associated side effects. Anyone suffering from nausea, trouble sleeping, mental health issues, or chronic pain should try using CBD if they are hesitant to use prescription medication. Even in combination with other medications, CBD has been proven to heighten the results and lessen the negative side effects associated with the drug.

4. Safe For Children

Though smoking and vaping CBD is restricted until the age of 21, there are many other accepted forms of consuming CBD which are largely considered safe for children. Tinctures, edibles, and pain relief creams are all valid ways to treat certain health conditions.

CBD oil has been accepted as a safe way to treat symptoms of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), such as anxiety and insomnia, in children. In children with Dravet syndrome, (a form of childhood epilepsy), CBD has been found to greatly reduce seizures and related activity.

If you are interested in having your child try using CBD, consider talking to your family doctor first to ensure proper age-appropriate doses are given.

5. Treats Neurological Disorders

CBD oil has been clinically shown to greatly reduce the effects of anxiety and depression. In several animal studies, CBD has been shown to mimic the effects of antidepressants. This can be attributed to the effect CBD has on serotonin receptors in the brain. Serotonin is the neurotransmitter responsible for regulating mood. I experience these effects myself when using CBD and have found that it reduces symptoms of my anxiety and depression noticeably.

One of the most common studies uses for CBD tests its effectiveness in treating neurological issues, such as multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. In people with multiple sclerosis, CBD has proven to be an extremely effective and safe way to combat muscle spasticity, when combined with THC. In these cases, relief has been shown for over 75 percent of those originally suffering. A separate study showed that those given CBD by itself found a 37 percent reduction in seizures.

CBD has potential benefits for reducing psychotic symptoms in people suffering from mental disorders such as schizophrenia. In several animal and test-tube studies, CBD has been shown to reduce inflammation and prevent the mental deterioration associated with Alzheimer’s. One study found that CBD helped mice who were genetically predisposed to Alzheimer’s fight off the disease and prevented neuro-degradation.

6. Used For Substance Abuse Treatment

CBD can help reduce addiction and addictive qualities by modifying circuits in the brain related to drug addiction. In particular, there has been a clear decrease in morphine dependence and heroin-seeking behaviors by those treated with CBD. The associated effects of using CBD can be extremely beneficial in lessening the severity of physical withdrawals.

The relaxing psychological results can also help with the mental dependency associated with drug use.

CBD can also be useful for treating milder addictions, especially cigarettes, as it offers a safe replacement that still fulfills the desire to smoke.

7. Can Reduce Cancer And Related Symptoms

Cancer treatments related symptoms, and even the illness itself, may benefit greatly from the use of CBD as treatment. Studies have shown that cancer patients treated with CBD experienced significantly greater relief from symptoms than those who were not. One study compared patients treated with CBD in addition to THC, (the active property in marijuana), with those being treated with only THC. They found that those treated with CBD as well experienced a larger reduction in pain and other symptoms than those who did not receive it.

While there are prescription pharmaceutical options for chemotherapy related nausea and pain, they are often found to have distressing undesired side effects. In addition to offering a more holistic, natural experience, CBD had been found to offer a safe and legitimate alternative for effectively managing symptoms. When paired with THC, CBD has been found to work better than standard treatment at reducing nausea and vomiting.

Though the effects on humans are still somewhat unknown, trials done in test-tubes and using animal studies have found that CBD may even have anti-cancer properties, reducing the effects greatly. Two separate studies on aggressive breast cancer found surprising results. A test-tube study using concentrated CBD showed that the extract induced rapid death in the cells responsible for human breast cancer. The other study found that CBD could inhibit the spread of breast cancer cells in mice. In test-tube and animal studies, CBD has shown promising anti-tumor effects. It has been found to prevent the spread of breast, prostate, brain, colon, and lung cancer. While the results are inconclusive, the potential benefits for humans are extremely promising!

8. Regulates Your Body

Try using CBD  at the same time daily to feel the full effects. Allowing it to build up in your system, much like a pharmaceutical drug, will make sure you are constantly feeling the effects throughout your day. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system in your brain and can affect functions such as sleep, anxiety, and heart rate. When using CBD daily, you will likely find yourself on a more regular sleep schedule and feeling more rested after.

Stress levels should also go down as the CBD works to relax your body. After a few weeks, there will be noticeable results bettering your lifestyle. In instances where you are in need of extra help, feel free to take extra, as your body will not build up a tolerance to CBD as easily as with many other options.

9. Helps Prevent Heart Issues

The use of CBD has been found to have multiple benefits for the heart and circulatory system as a whole, such as reducing blood pressure. High blood pressure is a common issue linked to numerous health conditions. It can be an indicator of more series issues, such as a heart attack, stroke, or metabolic syndrome.

One study found that a single dose of CBD oil reduced resting blood pressure a good deal. It even prevented the rise of blood pressure during stress tests. In mice, CBD has been shown to reduce cell death associated with heart disease due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This ability is directly related to how CBD manages stress, another key factor in heart conditions.

10. Low Stress To Use

If you are looking to try using CBD for any reason, you will find that it can be as easy as you want! CBD is federally legal across the United States, (be sure to check legal age limits in your state), so you can choose to enjoy the product anywhere you’d like. This freedom allows you to take your product on the go with you. While you cannot use a vape in stores, it is very convenient for the busy person looking for stress relief on-the-go.

Though CBD is becoming more accepted, there may still be a stigma surrounding it for some. If discretion is your main priority, edibles look just like any other food and can be consumed at family events or large gatherings where you may be suffering from anxiety. No matter what your needs, CBD offers a range of options ensuring there’s a perfect fit for everyone!

The list above shows merely a few of the reasons everyone should try using CBD. Let us know in the comments below what drew you to CBD and please share this article if you found it helpful!
