Having trouble finding the great restaurants in Northwest Indiana? Well look no further. Here are some of the top restaurants in Northwest Indiana for the ultimate foodie.

So, my article was originally supposed to be about restaurants in my hometown, but I realized that there are so many good restaurants in Northwest Indiana, I always go to that aren’t in my town (but near it). I put out a vote on my hometown’s Facebook page to get their opinions on what restaurants are their favorite in the area.

1. Schoops

One of my ultimate favorite restaurants in Northwest Indiana to go to when I am home. Their specialty is their burgers, but I personally love their cheese fries and chocolate shakes. My typical order would be a fried egg sandwich, cheese fries and a chocolate shake. The servers are always so friendly and sometimes give you special discounts on food. They have a small arcade in the back for the kids, but my favorite part is sitting at the counter in the swirling chairs!

2. Round the Clock

To be honest, a lot of elderly people love to go to this restaurant, but literally everyone I know loves this place. They are open 24 hours and have breakfast all day long which is a plus! Just about everyone I know loves the lemon rice soup. If you ever go to a Round the Clock you have to try lemon rice soup. It sounds weird, but it is amazing. No other place has better lemon rice soup.

3. Patrician Banquet Center

Not exactly a restaurant, but you have to try their Sunday Breakfast! For a cheap price, you get an all you can eat buffet. And if you are 21 or older, the mimosa bar is included. There is so much to eat, you just can’t pass up the deal. You have fruit, cheese, pastries, pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, omelette, ham and so much more! The staff is super friendly and make sure you leave happy and full! I always take my grandparents here because they just love the buffet and the servers.

4. Main St. Cafe

This tiny restaurant is hidden in old buildings in the middle of the Crown Point, Square. When you walk in you get the ‘small town diner’ vibe. They have amazing breakfast food and it’s a nice place to stop and check out the walls. The walls have paintings of the town in the past. My favorite part of the restaurant is to sit and see what it was like in the past.

5. Farmhouse Restaurant

The Farmhouse Restaurant is located right next to Fair Oaks Farm, one of the biggest farms in Indiana. The restaurant gets most of its ingredients right from the farm! If you go to the restaurant you HAVE to check out the farm. The farm is especially fun for kids. Then you definitely have to check the shop out in the restaurant!! There are so many fun restaurants in Northwest Indiana.

6. Lighthouse Restaurant

The Lighthouse Restaurant is definitely a more expensive restaurant, but you get your money’s worth. The is mouthwatering amazing. The steaks are my personal favorite. Most people like to go here because the restaurant is right on Cedar Lake. The building itself has so many windows that way when the sun sets you can see the beautiful scenery. Not to mention all the cool decorations inside. The bar top is literally a boat!

7. George’s Family Restaurant

George’s is also hands down one of my favorites that I always go to. You know in movies they always have that family diner that everyone goes to and everyone knows everyone; George’s is that place. I love this place. I know all the waitresses like friends and even snapchat them. I always get the denver omelet at George’s and they never fail me. Sometimes when I get a shake they’ll give me extra! Plus they have breakfast all day; it can’t get any better than that!!!!!!

8. Tyler’s Tender

Tyler’s Tender is another one of my top restaurants to go to. Even adults find this restaurant fun. It is definitely kid friendly because it has a train ride and an arcade. Even at 19 I still go to the arcade and play games while I wait for my food. The best part is when the train serves your food. All the kids go crazy when they see it. If you have kids/grandkids or even are just babysitting, take them to Tyler’s Tender and you won’t regret a thing!!!! This is one of the restaurants in Northwest Indiana that will make you the best babysitter if you take the kids there.

9. House of Kobe

My top restaurant to go to for a special occasion. They have the best Japanese food! My favorite part is when they cook everything in front of you. It is expensive though, so I highly recommend going during lunch time for their specials. They even have a glass pond you can walk onto to see the fish. I recommend going to the one in Merrillville, I personally like that one a whole lot better than Schererville.

10. Meyer’s Castle

I have to be honest and I have only been here once when I was younger. It is on my bucket list to go sometime. It is super expensive at dinner time so I would go during lunch. If you are looking for a reunion, anniversary or rehearsal dinner venue then this is definitely the place. It is a legit mansion/castle. The gardens are beautiful. The house is beautiful. Even Though it is crazy expensive, I would go just for the sight seeing and history. It’s not every day you get to eat at a castle.
