Top 5 Vegan Ice Cream Brands Dessert Lovers Would Enjoy
Vegan Ice Cream Brands provide delicious cruelty-free frozen desserts. They are loved by vegans and non-vegans. Below I listed my Top 5 Vegan Ice Cream Brands that are guaranteed a sweet time!
1. So Delicious!
This brand’s ice cream is so delicious! The company offers a variety of ice cream bases and flavors. And by bases, I mean the type of milk used. For example, there are products made from cashews, coconut milk, soy, almond milk, and oat milk. As you can see, there are so many options, and we haven’t gotten to the flavors yet! Flavorwise, you can try cashew-based dark chocolate truffle, oat-based caramel apple crumble, and coconut-based ice cream sandwiches. Yes! They offer ice cream sandwiches. They also do ice cream bars!
The taste of each product varies. I personally love the oat-based ice cream. It is the creamiest series of the bunch and offers the best flavors. The coconut-based flavors have a pretty significant coconut flavor. So they might not be the best decision for people who do not like coconut. And the soy-based ice cream is not as creamy as the other bases. The cashew-based ones would reign second place for me though. The products are super creamy and offer a great variety of flavors.
Overall I find this vegan ice cream brand to have one of the best catalogs. They cater to different people with different needs. For example, if you are allergic to cashew, you can try their oat-based products instead.
2. Nada Moo!
Nada Moo wins the prize for the best title! Hands down! For those confused about the title, Nada means nothing in Spanish. Moo means cow in cowspeak. So there are No Cow Products that this brand offers. It’s a ridiculous but brilliant name!
Nada Moo uses a coconut base for all its frozen desserts but do not worry! The coconut flavor is not strong at all (unless it’s an intentional flavor). Multiple fans of this vegan ice cream brand could not taste the coconut. This means coconut haters should be on the clear to try this product. Either way, this ice cream tastes incredible. The texture is also super creamy. It is definitely a brand that focuses more on quality than the number of options it offers.
Nada Moo offers an incredible selection of flavors. I can provide an extensive list of what this company offers. Here we go! Caramel cold brew and cookies, rockiest road, peach cobbler, marshmallow stardust, banana caramel crunch, and strawberry cheesecake. Need a second to recollect yourself after reading all of that? Take your time because there are more amazing frozen desserts we need to talk about!
3. Haagen-Dazs
You might be thinking: why Haagen Dazs? Isn’t that just dairy ice cream? Well, I got some amazing news to share: Haagen Dazs now serves vegan ice cream! This is incredible because mainstream brands are now joining the plant-based train. This also comes to show how big the vegan movement is getting.
Is it as good as the original ice cream? That is the big question. And the results are beyond spectacular. I have seen many reviews comparing Haagen Dazs’ dairy products to their non-dairy counterparts. I have even seen blindfolded taste tests on Youtube to truly test how they compare. And surprisingly, many participants of the challenge preferred the non-dairy versions. It’s just that good!
This worldwide brand has a decent plant-based catalog. You can try their chocolate salted truffle pint, peanut butter chocolate fudge bar, and even an amaretto black cherry almond toffee flavor. For those who don’t know what amaretto is, it is an Italian liquor that has a sweet almond flavor. So there is booze on this dessert. This comes to show that Haagen Dazs is not playing around with its non-dairy catalog!
4. Craig’s
Storytime! I was visiting Johny Rockets when I first tried a product from Craig’s. You might be wondering how. So I ordered the new Impossible burger (made with mock meat) which was incredible. Then the server suggested the vegan milkshake made with Craig’s ice cream. I tried the chocolate flavor and it became one of the best milkshakes I have ever tried! Vegan or not! The texture was so rich and creamy. The taste was super chocolatey. I knew I had to buy an ice cream pint after this.
Craig’s Ice cream does not mess around when it comes to making quality products. The company uses natural and non-GMO ingredients. The main base is rich cashew milk guaranteed to make a creamy product. The toppings used for each flavor are stellar. For example, the strawberry cheesecake flavor had actual chunks of strawberry and pie crust. It was so good!
The only downside to Craig’s is that every ice cream product is cashew-based. So people with nut allergies will not be able to enjoy what Craig offers. If I were in charge of the company, I would add other ice cream bases to serve people with different needs.
5. Ben and Jerry’s
Fun fact, the first non-dairy ice cream product I tried is from Ben and Jerry’s. That’s right. This was almost six years ago! This was back before vegan ice cream gained popularity. Ben and Jerry’s is one of the first if not, the first mainstream ice cream brand to add non-dairy flavors. It is a monumental step into the plant-based movement!
Based on its plant-based lineup alone, B and J’s offers some of the best variety of flavors ever. Here is a small preview of what they offer: coconut seven-layer bar, Netflix and chilled, creme brulee cookie, and The Tonight Dough Starring Jimmy Fallon. Any more questions? I thought so!
Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavor is one of my all-time favorite ice cream flavors ever! I am not kidding. There are actual brownie chunks in this masterpiece of a frozen dessert. This is also the flavor of the first vegan ice cream pint I tried.
Overall, Ben and Jerry’s is legendary. The company knows what it’s doing. It simply wants its customers to have the sweetest experience with their ice cream!
