Top 5 Seattle Landmarks Tourists Must Check Out

Seattle Landmarks are some of the best and most versatile in the U.S. The area is full of mountains, active volcanoes, and bays. Below I listed my top 5 Seattle Landmarks tourists will fall in love with!

1. The City of Forks

When I was touring the Olympic Mountains, I came across a small city. The name of the town was Forks. I immediately recognized the name and the city itself. Knowing I have seen it before, but I don’t remember from where. The tour guide cleared it up. It was the city that Bella Swan moved to and met her vampire lover: Edward Cullen. This is the exact city where they filmed the beloved Twilight Saga!

Twilight fans will clearly go bonkers when visiting this iconic landmark. They will be able to walk in the footsteps of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattison, and Taylor Lautner. I will never forget hearing the loud screams of fellow travelers when we arrived at the scene. We see Bella’s house, instant screaming. We see the High School, instant hollering. We see Jacob’s house, instant crying. This tour will absolutely be your favorite if you are part of the vampire fandom.

Despite its pop culture credits, the City of Forks is also a wonderful town to see. The mountains provide a picturesque view along with the gorgeous Douglas firs. You will understand why this town was chosen to be the setting of a blockbuster hit.

2. La Push

Although Seattle does not lie next to the ocean, it is not far away. All you have to do is take a drive through the Olympic Mountains, pass through the city of Forks, and viola!  The Pacific Ocean awaits! So once you are done with the Twilight tour, you can take a short drive to one of the most unique oceanfronts ever!

La Push is not your typical sunny beach. The sand is not as fine as what you will find at other places. And since it is geographically located in the Northwest, water temperatures will remain cold. Heck, even the weather is cloudy most of the time! So what makes La Push so beautiful? First of all, giant driftwood branches are laying around the beach. They are massive and make you feel like you are a part of a fantasy film. There are also giant offshore rock formations. Looking like floating mountains over the sea. The waves are killer too! Plenty of surfers come to experience the crashing currents of this beach!

Overall I find this Seattle Landmark to be super unique! It is beautiful, but not in the traditional way! Words can not do justice to how great this place is!

3. Pike Place Market

Located in Downtown Seattle, this wonderful place will fulfill all your shopping and dining needs. Pike Place is full of restaurants, grocers, meat markets, and unique shops. Every time you visit, it will be a completely different experience. That is how expansive this Market is.

When I visited this Seattle Landmark, I tried out so many different foods. I got a potato and cheese bread from a Russian Bakery, a Quattro Cheese Fromage from a Patisserie, and authentic Greek Style yogurt from a Greek shop. They were all absolutely delicious! I also came across a fish parlor. Vending whole seafood per pound. I saw giant fish heads, full crabs and lobsters, and a whole octopus chilling on the display. Even the produce places are beautiful! My favorite part was seeing all the different mushrooms they offered. The variety is endless!

Overall I find this Market to be one of the best the city has to offer! You will never get bored by the endless options offered!

4. The Space Needle

This Seattle Landmark might be the most obvious choice on the list. But it is here for a good reason! The Space Needle has been one of the most photographed places in the Seattle area. It is a super tall needle-like structure that provides the best views of the area. It stands out from every other building downtown.

Once I gave this landmark a visit, I was shocked by how I was able to see everything. Since it was a clear day, I saw the Olympic mountains to the West, Mount Rainier to the South, Mount Baker to the North, and the Cascade Mountains to the East. I also saw every other building below me. I truly felt like I was on top of the world.

The Top compartment of the Needle has two floors. The top floor is outdoors. The lower floor is a rotating indoor environment. Yes rotating! The whole room slowly moves to make way for a panoramic view!

5. Mount Rainier

I cannot express how gorgeous this mountain is! When I visited Mount Rainier national park, my eyes could not stop staring at the snow-capped volcano next to me. It truly felt like I was climbing either Mount Fuji or the Matterhorn. Except I do not have to leave the U.S to experience this.

When you first enter the National Park, thick forests await. You can spot some of the most giant trees you have ever seen. The conifer trees, Douglas firs, and western hemlocks stand tall! All super gracious and ready to make the most instagrammable photos! Many people will take pictures next to the trees for size comparison. It really shows how tall the trees are!

The best part of this Mountain is when you get near the top. The National Park extends to the snowcapped side of Rainier. And once I arrived at the near top, I felt like I crossed the wardrobe Narnia! It was a complete Winter Wonderland! Although I was there at the end of October, it felt like January! This place is a must-do If you want to enchant yourself to a fairytale scene!
