The Top 10 Spring Break Destinations For College Students

The time will be upon us sooner than you know…yes, I’m talking about SPRING BREAK. If you are like me, you like to plan ahead of time. But first things first. With so many incredible spring break options, where are you going to go? While this list might make it harder to choose (they are all equally amazing!), here are the top 10 spring break destinations for the ideal spring break getaway!

1.  Daytona Beach, Florida

This is the perfect place to take a road trip, and not to mention a VERY popular spring break destination, and for good reason. Daytona beach has a very laid back atmosphere and is known for its need for speed. In fact, it’s actually legal to drive on the beaches. There are plenty of beach activities such as surfing, beach volleyball, rock climbing and jet skiing; plus it’s got one of the hottest nightclub scenes in Florida.

2. Southern California (SoCal)

California is the ultimate vacation spot simply because there is just so much to do! You can visit one of its numerous beaches, such as Laguna Beach or even the Famous Santa Monica Pier. Indulge in the delicious and flavorful food that can only be found on the west coast (I’m talking about you, fish tacos). Take a studio tour at Paramount or WB and see where your favorite TV shows and Movies are made. There are tons of well known drinking hot spots in West Hollywood…or just about anywhere along the coast. You could even take a day to visit Disneyland or the San Diego Zoo!

3. Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahamas is definitely a top go-to destination when picking a spring break spot, and I’m not surprised – it’s absolutely beautiful! You will never find water so crystal clear. Scuba dive or snorkel in the pristine waters, indulge in the food of the natives and of course, get ready to party hardy – every night is a party in the Bahamas!

6. South Padre Island, Texas

You don’t need to leave the states to experience spring break on an island! Just head over to South Padre Island in Texas. This destination is great for those who can’t really afford an expensive flight out of the country, yet are still looking for an escape. 7. Panama City Beach, Florida

Panama City Beach has actually been named the number one spring break destination in the United States, and it’s not hard to see why. First of all, it’s huge: 27 miles of sandy beaches along the Gulf of Mexico…have I hooked you yet? Oh and don’t worry, if you’re worried about getting bored…the constant pool and beach parties will keep you busy all week long.

8. New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans isn’t ONLY great during Mardi Gras…it’s actually an awesome spring break spot! Culturally and visually stimulating – there’s a wide variety of things to do in this bustling town. Explore Bourbon Street, spend quality time in the French Quarter, enjoy some delicious Cajun fare, drink on the streets, and top the night off with a tasty sugar-coated beignet!

duffland.

9. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

For a bit more laid back atmosphere in the realm of spring break beach destinations – Punta Cana is your go-to. Don’t get me wrong, they have a great nightlife with numerous clubs and bars in the downtown area; but if you’re all about getting some quality chill time in at the beach – all resorts are private – AKA peace and quiet.

10. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

A somewhat underrated spring break spot, I believe Myrtle Beach definitely deserves a place on this list! Tucked away on a 60 mile stretch of coastline, known as The Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach has a plethora of activities for any spring breaker to enjoy. Whether its giant coast side Ferris wheel, a long day tanning in the white sand, or a night spent at the popular bar scene – it’s got it all!
