1. San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden

At the San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden you will find a fun adventure waiting for you. Whether it’s looking at the blossoming flowers along the pathways or admiring the colors of the fish in the ponds, it is a great place to go out on an adventure with your friends or a date. The San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden offers beautiful scenery that you can only find here.

2. San Antonio Museum of Art

It doesn’t matter if you don’t care for art, the San Antonio Museum of Art has some cool exhibits that will keep you entertained. It’s right by the River Walk, so even if you don’t enjoy it here there are cool places all around. Not to mention, students only pay $5 with a student ID and it’s free Tuesdays from 4-9 pm and Sundays from 10am-12 pm.

3. Hogwild Records & Tapes

At Hogwild Records & Tapes you will find badass records that you won’t encounter anywhere else. All you need is the love for music to come into this store, no record player needed. They sell unique band t-shirts, pins, CD’s, stickers, DVD’s, and many other things. Don’t let the old fashioned word “records” limit you from coming in to this cool music store.

4. San Marcos Premium Outlets

The deals and the clothes you will find here are worth the 45 minute trip. Although it is a drive there’s nothing to worry about if you have money in your pockets and are ready to spend. Here you will find stores like Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, A’Gaci, and plenty more. Regardless of your taste in fashion, there’s a store here for everyone.

5. San Antonio Botanical Garden

Yet another beautiful park created by San Antonio Parks and Recreation. Come out and smell the flowers at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. This great park has tons to explore and it’s only getting bigger, which means there are many more flowers that you will be able enjoy. They also hold events every now and then so don’t miss the opportunity to experience them.

6. Enchanted Rock

The Enchanted Rock, located in Fredericksburg, Texas, is a place you definitely want to go to. Why bother just staying in the San Antonio area when Texas has so many beautiful places to offer? At the Enchanted Rock you will find a list of activities to entertain yourself with. You can choose between rock climbing, camping, hiking, or choose to do all of them.

7. The Pearl Brewing District

Shopping, eating, buying produce from the Farmers Market, are all things you can do at the Pearl Brewing District. This place is ideal to go to when your family is in town or when you and your friends can’t come up with a plan for the day. If you’re looking for a casual day out, this is the best place to do it at.

8. Natural Bridge Caverns

Located 36 minutes away from UTSA are the Natural Bridge Caverns. The Natural Bridge Caverns are ideal for taking in the beauty of nature at a relatively cheap price. There’s no way to come here and leave without saying that you’ve had fun or have been amazed at something you saw.

Open air cinema has become increasingly popular throughout the years and thankfully it has been introduced to San Antonio. Don’t hesitate to come down to watch a movie… completely free. Check out this site for their movie showings and locations.

10. Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Are you really a UTSA student if you don’t come to Six Flags before you graduate? Six Flags is just across the freeway so it’s super convenient for those of us who are trying to save on gas. Although it can get a little pricey, UTSA offers a student discount that is perfect to take advantage of!
