10 Tips To Turn Your Room Into A Home Office

There comes a time in everyone’s life, when a home office becomes a must. It’s a place that allows you to separate your work life from your home life but simultaneously allows you to work a couple of feet from where you sleep.

It’s the best of both worlds and is especially ideal for all the side-business-hustlers, freelancers and those who just like to work from home. But it’s important to have a designated space for this. T

his space should be decked out and equipped with all the things to make your room into the perfect home office. This list of tips and tricks will help you do just that!

1. Get A Desk

This may sound obvious, but a lot of people churn out things sitting on their bed, on the floor or with the use of a side table. Having a desk will make it easy to have a designated space for all your work. It’s also important that you get a desk that has some storage space.

This will allow you to keep everything related to your “office life” in one place and keep it from spreading to the bedroom part of your room. Also, face your desk away from your bed. This helps with the temptation of climbing into bed to complete your work.

2. Invest In Stationery

Having good stationery at your desk is important, and it should be separate from the random pens that you probably having lying around in your bedroom. Having a little designated area to keep these allows for easy access when you’re taking important calls or making notes.

3. Décor

The décor of any place you’re living and working in should be according to your taste. Some people like it simple while others enjoy crazy colours or themes to get things done. But make sure the décor for your home office and room go together. After all, you don’t want the two spaces to look completely different.

4. Bed Options

To ensure your home office takes advantage of as much space as possible, use a murphy bed or a sofa bed. Either of these options will work to virtually remove your bedroom from your home office.

5. Curtains

Curtains can be a great way to separate your room from your home office. The partition will make it easy to have your own dedicated space for each and can make it feel like the two are separate places.

6. Spare Closet

A spare closet can double as a great place to call your home office home. Depending on the size, you can fit a desk in and have access to a separate space to get all of your work done. It’s a win win!

Certain colours can spark creativity and can help create a comforting work environment. After all, ergonomics is everything. Plus, a contrast wall will give the rest of your room a nice pop of colour.

9. The Perfect Chair

Speaking of ergonomics, make sure you get the perfect chair for your home office that is ergonomic friendly. This means that it gives you the proper support and can allow for you to sit for long periods of time. Plus, you can double the use of the chair and use it for when applying makeup.

10. Folding Tables
