10 Tips To Look Fly When You're Running Late

It’s happened to all of us and will forever be unavoidable for some of us: running late. For most, it can be argued that it comes in the morning from hitting the snooze button one to many times. Or maybe taking that extra five minutes you don’t have in the shower. But there’s no reason why running late should prevent you from looking like the queen you are. So here’s a list of tips and tricks to follow the next time you’re running late but want to look fly AF.!

1. Skincare

If you have 5 minutes to do anything at all in the morning, make sure you’re focusing on your skin. It is crucial that you apply some moisturizer and eye cream to hydrate your skin from the night before. Doing so will allow your skin to wake up and drop the dreaded dull look that can take over when you don’t have a proper skincare routine.

2. Concealer

This is the one thing you should definitely be reaching for if you don’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning. This one cosmetic product can do so much! Use it to cover any bags that you have under your eyes. Also use it to cover any pimples, extra redness or problem areas on your face. Make sure to apply a little in between the brows and the forehead as well as the bridge of your nose and chin. Doing so will brighten up your face without needing to use multiple makeup products.

3. Mascara

Another makeup product that you should be reaching for when running late is mascara. Mascara will lengthen your eyelashes and make your eyes look bigger. This is always a plus but may especially be so when you need that extra boost!

4. Add A Pop of Color

Make sure you have a nice pop of color on you. This can be a lipstick or some sort of blush or perhaps a nice scarf. Having this pop of color will make you look more awake and ready to start the day!

5. Dry Shampoo

If your hair is getting a little oily, dry shampoo it. This is one of the most magical products on earth as it can help transform your hair from a literal mess into something amazing. A pro tip would be to get a shampoo that’s the color of your hair. You can also try one with a nice clean scent to make your hair smell like a fresh wash.

6. Wear A Hat

If the dry shampoo thing really isn’t working out for you or you need some extra coverage for your hair, try wearing a hat. Now, this won’t work in every situation, especially if you work in a professional setting. But it’s totally fine if all you’re doing is heading to class. Try a cute baseball cap or even a beanie. Not only will it cover your hair, but it’ll upgrade your look and make you look fly AF!

7. Repeat Outfits

Yes, you read that correctly. There’s no shame in repeating outfits. You can change up the look by adding something you didn’t have on during the previous day. For example, you can wear the same pants, but change up your shirt to a sweater. Doing so will save you precious time deciding on an outfit when you’re running late and will make you look fly because everything you own is fly. It doesn’t matter what order you wear it in!

8. Oversize It

Another great outfit choice for when you’re running late is to pair an oversize piece of clothing with something more fitted. For example, you can pair your favorite oversized sweater with a pair of black leggings or skinny jeans. Or maybe you can wear your favorite pair of baggy sweatpants with a cute tube top and a light jacket over top!

9. One Piece

A one piece of any sort is another easy outfit choice for when you’re running late. Try a dress, a jumpsuit or a romper; you can’t go wrong with any of these options. Plus, they’re really easy to throw together since all it involves is putting on one main piece of clothing. This saves you time on deciding what to wear!

10. Keep It Simple

If you like to control every aspect of what you wear, then the above options may not suffice. But you should remember to keep it simple. Simple outfits always look great and can go with many different everyday events like school and work. Don’t try to put together the best outfit you could have ever worn when you’re running late as this might backfire, making you later then you were in the first place.
