There they go, your crush walking by looking angelic as usual. Yet, you haven’t made a move. This is the part where I would ask why but I already know. You’re nervous and your head’s filled with what ifs. Well, here are some tips to help you approach your crush.
Now this sounds stupid and I don’t blame you for thinking that. In the movies the main character is staring into the bathroom mirror fumbling over their words over and over again, looking like an idiot. Well, who says you have to stare into a bathroom mirror? All you have to do is think about it in your head. The more practice you have, the less of a chance you’ll look like a fool in front of your crush.
This seems like the hardest thing in the world. It’s scary to walk up to your crush. You don’t know what they’ll think or what they’ll say. But you have to think of it like this: if you don’t try then you’ll never know. Just relax and think, your crush isn’t some holy deity, they’re a human being just like you and me. So what’s the worst that could happen?
Okay, your crush has to have a sense of humor, otherwise, why would you want to talk to them? Unless you hate laughing and are void of a sense of humor yourself, making someone laugh is always a plus. Who doesn’t like to laugh anyways? All I know is, all I’ve got is my sense of humor and it’s worked for me so far.
This can be super casual. People love compliments. When your crush walks by say something like, “Hey, I like that jacket.” Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
This is actually the perfect way to find out more about your crush. When you talk about your shared interests, you find out if they’re even able to hold a conversation. Talking to them will let you know if this having a crush on them thing is worth having. This is also your chance to fall deeper in love, or like with them.
Get rid of that RBF and smile. I’m not telling you in the creepy old man cat calling way, I mean at your crush. Smiling is inviting and is a sweet gesture and I’m sure your crush will love your beautiful smile!
Ask them simple things like the date or something like that. If you never speak to them, they’ll never know you exist. Just don’t do that thing in Mean Girls where Cady pretended to be stupid and started flunking just so she could hang out with him.
You know when you and your coworkers go out for drinks after work, invite your crush! If it’s a group thing it won’t look so obvious that you want to spend time with them.
Okay. This is what we’ve been training for. It’s time to ask them out. What? Did you think this would be filled with ways on how to approach them but you never actually following through? Not on my watch.
Now that you’ve approached them and asked them out, it’s time to tell them how you really feel. Just be honest and whatever happens, happens. Just know you gave it a shot.
