Do you ever want that flawless finish? I know I do especially if I’m having a tired skin day or even some breakouts, I don’t want them visible. Foundation is a way for us to express ourselves and feel confident so why not have it look flawless. Down below is 8 tips for achieving the perfect foundation look.
Just remember when your skin looks good, your foundation will go on so much smoother. Now I know this doesn’t happen overnight it’s a process. One thing I love to do when I really want my foundation to come out good I put on a face mask. Normally something for a deep clean and that will help improve my skin tone. To know more about what masks I use, click on my author name and you should check out my article, ” 10 best face masks for oily skin”.
Primer is important in starting your foundation routine. It sets your face and helps your skin not be as oily. I like a glowy look so I love getting one that adds a glow, Elf has a great one. But you could also get one for a matte finish, or even one to make your pores appear smaller.
If you do not know your shade, do not expect all that endless blending to save you! Make sure your foundation matches your neck since your gonna need to blend it down. It can take you forever in the store to find it. I’m literally in the store for like an hour swiping foundation on my inner wrist and seeing if it blends properly. That’s probably one of the quickest ways to figure it out in all honesty, plus it’s discreet if you’re like me and buy all your makeup in the drugstore.
Beauty blender can help you get that perfect foundation look, but it really depends what works for you. My favorite brush to use is one of my oval brushes. If you remember that oval brush set that came out, it was some ridiculous price like $200, well I got mine for $20 on Amazon it was the knockoff brand but it’s still just as good. When you get to a point where your good at blending you can honestly blend with anything.
Unless your foundation is hiding all your imperfections, which is rare! Cause most of the time if it is, its definitely very heavy and you don’t want a cakey look. Just use concealer to not only hide your dark spots but your eyeballs as well. One thing you may not know but concealer areas of your face that are gonna be highlighted can add more of that glow, just don’t over do it.
Even if you are trying to have that glowy makeup look, setting your makeup not only has it last longer but look more flawless. This is a crucial step if you prefer more of a matte look just so you know. For this, I use the Kat Von D translucent powder, but I hear banana powder is good as well. If you don’t wanna spend a lot Elf and NYX sell some good ones.
Now that we’ve made our skin look flawless let’s help it appear even more so by highlighting and contouring. I personally don’t like to contour, but if you want those chiseled cheekbones or even a smaller nose, this is your best friend. Highlight is something I never forget even if I’m not wearing foundation. Heres a tip if you don’t have one, spray your fan brush with water and rub it into your shiny eyeshadow shade you’d like to use on your skin, like a nice rosy gold.
I do forget this step I’ll be honest. But anytime I didn’t I had a full face that lasted all day. So start setting your makeup it’s a must.
