Struggling to lose weight? You’re not alone. Many people want to drop a couple of pounds that they have packed on during the colder months. Well, losing weight can be difficult but there are different tricks to shedding a couple of pounds. The hardest part is keeping the weight off. I am not a doctor or a nutritionist so always check with a physician before making any diet changes. Every body is different and every body is beautiful. These are just some helpful hints to help you in your weight loss journey.
Yes, of course! Our body needs movement and if you want to lose weight don’t forget to calculate some gym time in at least three to four times a week. Depending on your day-to-day life, exercising can be made a priority if you let it. Doing 30 minutes of cardio a few days a week, will get your body moving and boost your metabolism. Exercising is not only important for overall health but if you are looking to lose weight, then make the gym a priority.
While this might seem like a “duh” moment, there are a lot of people who aren’t consuming enough water on a daily basis. I’m not going to explain how important it is to drink water because we all know it is but make it your mission to consume around two liters a day, give or take. Drinking water will not only help you lose weight but it will also keep you full for longer. If you start to feel hungry, chug a water bottle then eat your meal. The water will fill up your stomach which will help you get full faster when eating. If you don’t fancy plain water then add some fruit to it! A refreshing combo is mint, ginger, lemon, and cucumbers.
Fiber is really important for the body. Fiber-rich foods include chia seeds, broccoli, lentils, beans, almonds and more. By having at least one fiber dense meal a day, it will give your body more energy once it’s broken down. Incorporating more fiber into your diet will also help with your digestion system. It addition, it’ll keep you full for longer because fiber is a natural suppressant.
Getting in a daily dose of greens will do more than just help you lose weight. Having dark leafy greens like spinach and kale each day will boost your metabolism, give you more energy and help aid in weight loss. If you don’t have a juicer you could use a blender and strain the contents in a nut-milk bag or a strainer. If you don’t mind the pulp then drink away. A good juice combo is spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, celery, cucumber, apple, lemon, and ginger. It turns a beautiful shade of green but you can’t taste it!
The name is more intimidating than it actually is. It is a popular eating pattern that is used to help promote weight loss. It involves a way of eating and fasting during certain times of the day. A popular way is eating your first meal at 1 p.m. and stop around 8 p.m. Then they will fast for 16 hours. This doesn’t change what you eat but when you eat. After a few days, your body will become used to the eating patterns.
This might seem silly but buy some smaller plates and use them for your meals. We all eat with our eyes so visualization is important. By using a smaller plate, you get the illusion that you are consuming more food. Also, the bigger the plate, the less portion control you will have.
This can be hard but processed sugar is so bad for our bodies. It will not only make you gain weight but it can also slow you down throughout the day. After eating a candy bar, you feel good for maybe an hour. But after that hour the “sugar high” is gone and you will be left feeling sluggish. This includes sugary drinks that contain a liquid form of sugar and alcoholic beverages.
Instead of trying to diet, just start to eat healthily. There are so many good and nutrient-dense foods our bodies crave and after just a few short weeks of eating a healthy diet, you’ll see the results you are looking for. At the end of the day, we all just want to feel confident in our own skin.
